So I chose to build something that displays two trademarks of Moria: The Doors of Durin, and the Watcher. For the Doors of Durin, I tried to focus on getting it to glow from behind which scarified accuracy a bit, but it still turned out fairly accurate. I ran out of leaf pieces, if I hadn't, there would be another tree on the other side. The small bit of underwater was a last minute addition just for some added interest. Not much more to say, good luck to my (legit) brother, Snappin Bricks! And thank you judges for organizing this contest once again!
You have an amazing entry here, but I voted for your brother. The more "classic" Moria feel helped. I felt that was lacking somewhat here. Thank you so much for participating in MELO 2017! I'm so sorry I didn't tell you who I voted for earlier...no hard feelings I hope?
This was a very difficult decision. Your brother got my vote. His last picture won me over. I also truly love your build, especially your door, which (with light) looks great.
Greetz and good luck,
Nice job on the door, though it looks a bit confusing when you aren't seeing it with a light in the back. The watcher, however, seems a bit stiff, if you know what I mean. I know large creatures are hard to build, so good for you for at least trying and it is so iconic. On the whole, however, the build has a nice style to it and that darker picture looks great!
