The Insurgency: #27 Piracy in Progress. (LB)
this is my first entry into the space engineer's league. and part 27 of my series. Hope you enjoy.
About this creation
Date: Saturday May 18th 2097.
Location: The region of space between Rerador and Earth.

Jack *narrating*: Ana'ran had taken us to a small room aboard the shipwreck that had a projector that was displaying what was left of her ship.

Dushka: Wow. We really did a number on this one...
Ana'ran: That's an understatement. Your escape pod took out the entire top section and the left engine. This war would be over in a few months if the G.I. weaponized their escape pods.
Jack: Well, from the look of things there's still a boarding ship attached. why can't we use it?
Ana'ran: We only had enough fuel for one shuttle. Which is the one my Uncle Sal'ant and the rest of my father's mages used.
Jack: Well what happened to the crew?
Ana'ran: There's not one. The ship is fully automated. Or it was. the computers were in the bridge.
Jack: So you mean there's no repair crew or even a way to tell if there's damage to the life support?
Ana'ran: Correct. It's just us three.
Jack: Why the heck didn't you tell me that sooner?! We could be in a ticking time bomb! Where's the engine room? The life support systems should be there as well.
Ana'ran: The only way to get to it is through the vents. I'll show you...

Ana'ran took me to the vent that led to the engine room and I tried to work the cover off.

Jack: Ya know some help would be nice.
Ana'ran: I am letting you live and I'm trusting you around my ship's engine.
Jack: That's not what I meant. You could at least not hold me at gun point.
Ana'ran: Would you trust the person who blew up your ship?
Jack: You have a point.

*Finally the vent cover came off.*

Jack Alright. I'll be back in a few minutes. Is there anything I should know about this engine?
Ana'ran: Yes. It's an experimental design. So be careful with it.
Jack: I will. I mean It can't be that in that bad of shape...

I take that back. This place is a dump. There's hoses all over the place with no labeling or color coding, One of the main power generators is busted and dripping green goo all over the floor.

Jack: This is going to take a while to fix...

A while later...

That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I might be better at this engineering stuff than I thought. Now then I just need to reroute the controls to the projector's so I can turn on the engine... And pray it doesn't over heat and explode in a massive fireball... Huh. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all...

Jack: Alright. I can't believe it worked but I managed to get the engine running and the ship is moving again.

Ana'ran: I must say Brickton I'm impressed that you managed to fix it. I thought I was going to have to murder you both and get my Father to pick me up.
Dushka: Ookay, Let's hurry up and land this scrapheap so I can get as far away from you as possible...
Jack: It's not that easy. The two closest planets are Rerador and Earth. Both of which have heavily guarded GI cruiser docking ports.
Ana'ran: And since this ship just attacked an Imperium vessel they would most likely shoot us out of the sky.
Jack: That brings us to our next option. Zarus. Normally I'd say It'd be a great option since I have friends there including General Convo. However given the fact we have no radio equipment and that one of us is a deserter from Aurelia they'd also probably shoot us out of the sky.
Dushka: So we're stuck here then?
Jack: There's still one more option. Fuyoria. Given the fact we're running at the speed of a broken down fighter it would take over a week to get there but We would be less likely to be shot before we landed. It's risky but it's our best option.
Dushka: Is that just your catch phrase now?
Jack: Yes it is. Now I recommend finding somewhere comfortable to sit because this is going to be a long ride...

Meanwhile at the Gamoth City Police Station on Rerador...

Kain *Narrating:I started out my search for Jack (and the person who tried to kill me.) at the police station. maybe they could tell me who turned him in.

Officer: My I help you sir?
Kain: Yeah. I got word an old chum of mine was arrested recently and wanted to know if there was any truth to it. Do ya think you could help me out?
Officer: Certainly. But I'm going to need to see some ID.

Kain *Narrating*: Oh darn. I didn't think about that. Maybe I can hack the system...

Kain: I uh... I don't have it on me. I must've left it in my other shell- I mean suit.
Officer: Then I'm afraid I can't help you sir.
Kain: Come on. I just want to see if my mate was sent to prison. Surely I can at least see that much.
Officer: I'm sorry Sir but without an ID I can't let you see that information.
Kain: What about my Detective's ID number. Would that work?
Officer: You're a detective?
Kain: Yep. Look up Kain Threepwood in your database.
Officer: Threepwood?
Kain: Weird name I know.

*the officer goes over to the computer and looks.*

Officer: Here we go. Kain Danger Threepwood.
Kain: My parents had a weird sense of humor. But at least I can actually say "Danger is my middle name."
Officer: Well Mr Threepwood it looks like they just added you to the database so I'm assuming you're new.
Kain: Yep. I'm on my first case.
Officer: I see. Well how may I help you?
Kain: Like I said I'm looking for an old pal of mine. He goes by the named Jack Daniel Brickton.
Officer: I'll look him up.... I don't see anyone by that name in our records. Perhaps I can find him by description.
Kain: He has brown hair, Height is around 6 feet. Birth date 1/6/75. wanted for ossillium theft, Murder, Piracy, and Treason.
Offcier: I think I can work with that... Here we are. Jack Henry Brickton. He was captured on the 14th and was sent to prison this morning.
Kain: Bloody 'ell. I didn't think the lad had gone that far. Do ya know what ship he was on? I have to uh ask him some questions.
Officer: He was being transported on the USS Saratoga under the custody of Sergeant Connery.
Kain: Thank you ma'm. I'll try and find this "Connery" fellow and ask him some questions...
Officer: Wait. Before you go could you do something for me?
Kain: I suppose...

The Officer walks over to the locker behind the desk and pulls out a small package.

Officer: Since you are going that way could you make sure Brickton's belongings get to Connery. He requested them be taken to his office.
Kain: Don't you need it as evidence?
Officer: I assume that's why he needs them.
Kain: Alright. I suppose I can take them. Thanks again for the help...

With that I tucked the parcel under my arm and headed out into the night. (Yes it was Actually night.)

Now I know what you're thinking and yes. I know Threepwood is stupid name but I had to act fast. I didn't want them to catch me hacking their database. And it was way too easy to do that. Their system password is doughnuts! Anyways, Since I had The keys to our ship now I could use it to find Jack. But first I need to pay a little visit to This Connery fellow... On second thought I might better get back up first. And I know just who to call...

To be continued...

Quoting Philip Pip9766 Something about that engine build seems familiar... I really like it. Nice episode too, Mr. Threepwood is interesting. :P
Thanks Phillip! Er. Familiar how? I'd honestly like to know what it reminds you of. And the Threepwood thing was literally just because I couldn't think of a good alias for Kain. and since he's a pirate who plays video games it kinda worked. :P
