This is the intro for my character (Phil Rider) in the Galactic Imperium faction of The Insurgency Roleplay.

Pilot’s Log, Entry X

My name is Falcon. Well, not really. It’s actually Phil, Phil Rider. And this is the story of how I went from being one of the most infamous space criminals in the system to the best pilot the Galactic Imperium ever had.

It all began on one very fateful day when my parents took me and my brother, Boba, out for a camping trip in Northern Maine. We were all having fun until we got separated during a hike. Boba and I wandered around those woods until we were nearing starvation. I was ready to just give up until I saw a campfire ahead. But when we got in closer I realized it was a camp of Marauders. I was going to tell Boba that we should get out of there, but it was too late, they already has caught him and it wasn’t long before they had me too.

I wasn’t sure what they were going to do to us, but I feared the worst. The brought us to their boss, Zamoka they called him, to decide our fate. Now, I’m not sure if he saw something in us, or if we simply appealed to his better nature, but he decided to keep us alive. Not only that, but he trained us to be a part of his gang. I was trained as a pilot and became quite the skilled smuggler, if I do say so myself. Boba, on the other hand, was made Zamoka’s right hand man and was taught the ways of running a crime syndicate.

As we grew older we grew more and more well-known as some of the top dogs in the crime industry. But, not long after The Shift I began to feel like something was missing. I had money I had a girlfriend and an awesome spaceship, what more could I ask for? I wasn’t sure what I needed, but I was going to find some answers, starting with finding my parents.

I asked Zamoka privately for his permission to do so. Though he knew this could lead to problems, he let me anyway. Seems like all those years of raising me softened him up. I left secretly without telling anybody, not even Boba. He still missed them and I didn’t want to give him any false hope.

My search led me to, basically, the middle of nowhere. All that was there was an small, old freighter. I managed to pry open the door to the cargo hold just enough to squeeze inside. A look around told me this ship had been abandoned in a hurry, books and clothes were still in their places and the food was beyond spoiled. I figured, the best way to figure out what happened was to check out the ship’s logs. Once I hotwired the ship it hummed to life. There wasn’t much but I gathered that my parents had gotten in trouble with some Aurelians and were forced into hiding. That explained why the ship was abandoned so hastily. Then, at the bottom of the list, there was a recording titled “For Phil and Boba”.

Without hesitating I activated it and my parents appeared as holograms in front of me. They explained that this message was made in the case of Boba and I returning. They apologized for having to leave and said how much they loved us. But, at the very end, just before the message flickered away, my mother said: “And never forget Jesus loves you.” And with that, they were gone.

Those last few words, “Jesus loves you” stuck with me. I couldn’t help but wonder how any normal person, nevermind Jesus, could love me after the things I’d done. I decided to look around, and soon I had found what what I was looking for, my father’s Bible. I earnestly read through it, and finally, I had my answers.

What happened next? Well, I’ll keep it simple since I know this topic can make some people uncomfortable, but I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins. I can’t describe how I felt afterward, knowing that I was free of all the terrible things I had done.

But I knew I still had to make things right. So, after sending a quick message to Boba and the others informing them of my decision, I turned myself in. The authorities were cautious, which makes sense. I mean, me, a smuggler at the top of my game, just turning myself in? No wonder they expected some kind of scheme. But I was going to face the consequences for my actions.

Not long after I was put in prison, some guys busted in to free a buddy of theirs they offered me a chance to escape but I refused. This got the attention of the Galactic Imperium. They decided that I would make a good ally. So they let me go somewhat free, in exchange for me becoming a pilot for the Imperium.

This was all in all, good news. But still, there was a catch. Since they couldn’t be too sure they could trust me, they assigned a droid to watch over me. He’s basically a buzzkill that doesn’t let me do anything that’s “Against the code of the Galactic Imperium!”. But he’s kind of small so I can normally get away with little things.

So, that’s the story of my life. I try hard to stick to the law but my past continues to make that difficult.

Anyway, this is Phil Rider, Signing off.

-End Transmission-

So, that's my intro! If it seems kind of concise and rushed, that's because I just wanted to finish it already. It also may seem weird because I'm condensing what I originally planned to be the first season into a brief intro. There's also some things I didn't mention that will show up and future parts will definitely be more humorous, so watch out for those. (One more excuse, I was having trouble with the uploader.)

Thanks for clickin’ and keep on brickin’!

Quoting --R.K. Blast-- Great job! I like the effects you added to your photos and I'm interested to see where this goes! We've not had a heavily religious character before, but I think you worked it in well. Just don't let it become to preachy. Having your character be religious is fine and, of course, feature it in your series, by all means. Just bear in mind that different people have different views on life and the universe - even more so in The Insurgency with so many other worlds and religions out there. Could lead to some interesting stories, too! I loved the little droid too! I like the idea of him trying to be a caretaker and it just not working! Haha! Yeah, good stuff! Welcome to The Insurgency! You are now on the leaderboard! --Blast--
I think what's in this part will be what you consider the most extreme. I'm not sure how I'll incorporate it into future parts though. And the Droid is going to be a fun character for sure. Thanks so much!

Quoting Marley Mac Welcome! I've been looking forward to reading this for awhile. :) I really like how you decided to tell the story (so far), not many write their stories through narration here in TI, are you planning on doing that throughout your series? I look forward to reading your next part!
Thanks, I know I took a long time. :| I plan on writing all part from 1st person narrative from Phil's point of view. Though I may deviate at times.

Awesome into Pip! Welcome to the insurgency! It was a little rushed (but honestly mine was too) however it leaves a good deal of room for flashback moments and the like. And the figs and builds look spectacular!I can't wait to see where this goes.
