The Assault Team's greatest bomber is finally here!
About this creation
As the war with the Shadow League continued on, the Assault Team began to notice that SL defenses were becoming harder and harder to pierce through, especially from the ground. The Assault Team needed a new aerial vehicle that could deploy heavy ordinance from above that could break through the SL's stronger defense. Enter the AS "Titan" Heavy Bomber, a ship designed to do just that. While listed as a "heavy bomber", the Titan also functions as much as a troop/supply transporter when not used as a bomber.
As a heavy bomber however, the Titan lives up to its primary purpose. The Titan comes armed with two missile payloads that can carry up to 8 individual missiles and/or rockets. The primary missile used on the Titan is the HOM-160 ground missile designed to destroy heavily-fortified SL structures such as missile facilities and barricades. The Titan's weapon beds can also be configured to launch other missiles such as anti-air homing missiles or air-to-surface missiles. Besides missiles, the Titan comes equipped with 2 40mm gatling cannons.
When its not being used as a bomber, the Titan was designed to be easily configurable for other uses. The interior of the ship makes for an exceptional troop carrier or as a supply ship capable of transporting a wide range of equipment and munitions. The weapon beds can even be swapped out to be used as storage if needed however this is rarely used by the Assault Team.
Due to its large size, the Titan is on the slower side when it comes to speed. The Titan is equipped with 2 VTOL boosters used for takeoff but can also function as secondary boosters once the Titan is in the air. The primary boosters consist of 8 individual heavy-rocket boosters designed more for improved maneuverability and control in the air than speed. This helps improve the accuracy of the Titan when launching its payload.
The AS "Titan" has been of tremendous help to the Assault Team in destroying SL facilities and dealing with heavily armored SL ground vehicles and infantry. However being a recent addition to the AS aerial fleet, only a few Titans are currently deployed (around 300 have been produced so far), making it crucial for the AS to be able to protect them from being destroyed.
