G1 Transformer: LDD Tracks
Introducing G1 Tracks! I haven't seen many Lego versions of Tracks so I decided to give him a shot! I had a lot of fun with this build and tried some new techniques. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how he turned out! His transformation is different than any of my other car Transformers. I did my best to make his vehicle mode look authentic and smooth (although I'm not particularly pleased with how the rear turned out). I'm really happy with his robot mode though! He's very posable (although his knees don't bend as far as I would like) and has good proportions (in my opinion). I don't like that the wings are separate pieces that have to be attached (as they were attached on the original toy), but it didn't work with the transformation engineering. Anyway, I did do a "Flight Mode" (which the original toy had) as well (last picture) and I think it turned out okay. As with my other vehicle Transformers, Tracks can fit a Minifigure inside. There is also a standard steering wheel. Tracks transforms from a Chevy Corvette Stingray to Autobot warrior without the addition or removal of parts (except for the wings and rocket launchers that are added to robot mode). Please feel free to rate, comment, and ask questions! I hope you enjoy! Update: I've added some new pictures of vehicle mode. Hopefully it more closely resembles a Corvette Stingray. Please let me know what you think!

Quoting Gallardo of LU city scale transformers, man I never thought these would be possible but those mixel joints have changed the game so much for this. nice work here
Thanks! Yeah, those mixel joints are fantastic! They really are game changers! I've been working on a few updates so hopefully I will post them soon. I'm also in the process of building a brick version, which is a long ways away from completion, but I might add a WIP pic for fun :)

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde These small scale Transformers never fail to amaze me. Incredible, how such a small car can look nicely detailed and become a detailed robot, as well! ~Cheers
Thanks Marc! It's always a challenge trying to get both modes to look detailed and accurate!

Quoting Kevin Heitke I have greatest respect for all functional transformer builder. I guessed, they all build it with the real stuff with zillions of trials and errors... Planning this with LDD is awesome! Could anyone relate to this guess? Am I totally wrong?
Thanks for your comment Kevin! My first Lego Transformers were brick built through trial and error and there were always engineering obstacles to overcome. When I started working in LDD, I quickly realized that some things were easier (finding pieces) and some things were harder (making sure the transformation engineering worked between the two modes). Either way, there is a lot of trial and error and sometimes when I'm working on brick built versions of my LDD designs, I have to make adjustments as gravity issues and somewhat fragile connections become evident. Anyway, I find making Lego Transformers very fulfilling and challenging. They keep my brain on its toes :) Sorry for the long winded response.

Quoting Nick Barrett Hugely impressive - all the more so for not being huge as a car!
Thanks Nick! It can definitely be a challenge to build car Transformers in 6-wide Minifig scale. Glad you like it!
