A bit of a whimsical "what if" creation... for something fun in the far future. The build is part of a collaboration for Bricks Cascade 2017 called “The Time Isles” and thus will accompany a number of amazing “floating” islands that each represent a period in time.
About this creation
Here's the printout we put on a card for Bricks Cascade:
Date: 3520 AD
Era: The Far Future
Subject: Octan Space-Gas Station
History: In the mid 3500's the multi-system corporate conglomerate Octan Corporation was in it's true heyday. Their brightly lit white red and green colored space-gas platforms could be found from the central Originia sector to the far reaches of the galaxy. Octan rushed to be the first to install stations in every newly settled sector or transit hub in an attempt to corner the market before their fierce rival Shell could complete the same goal.
Legacy: Space-gas was abolished as a wasteful antiquated technology in 5202 by Galactic Legate Frivolius III. In an effort to continue reaping profits, the Octan stations were converted to vending machine stops for the most incredibly stale hot dogs ever known by Lego kind.

I can see this being the model for future refueling stations. Then Lego would build the Octane set that you already built. Wow it's like those time travel scenarios in Sci-fi movies. Awesome design!

Woah! This thing is fantastic! I still can't find lights that fit in LEGO, what kind do you use? I love Benny's pod! 5/5
Thanks David! I've been using the Lego official Power Functions lights. They're not very small, which is actually the reason the roof on the gas station is so thick haha. Had to fit all the wires and connectors in there. But the end light piece is reasonably small and connects well with friction in any technic hole, so it is easy to use.

Video! Glad you recorded this. For such a vivid combination of red, green, and white, that sign was surprisingly mesmerizing to watch in person... kinda like a certain chomping dinosaur, haha.
Thanks Vakkron! I know exactly what you mean! CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP...
