Roast Mutton...
Welcome! This is my custom build for Roast Mutton, where Bilbo and the Dwarves find The Three Trolls! By Roanoke Handybuck! :D
About this creation
Hello! This is my second of 19 posts I will be doing, where I will be building my way through the Hobbit story, one chapter per post, I will do this over the course of the year...

Anyways, about the build, this is one of the bigger Roast Mutton scenes I have seen, and is on a 52 x 53 quarter irregular base.

Here are some more pics:

"Where are my pants?" :D

Here are some WIP pics:

And here is the entire build again:

Also, be looking out for MELO coming this April! :D

MELO Banner (2017)

This project started out pretty quickly, then kinda slowed down... I also had to clean my lego room, which surprising or not, took me about a week and a half to do... Another issue I faced, is the trolls themselves, as you can see, I am pretty bad with making brick-built creatures... :P I really struggle with that, and these (Which isn't great...) are my best brick-built creatures yet, otherwise, this IMO is a pretty good, and detailed moc...

C&C Appreciated!

To God be the glory!

Cool trolls. Certainly nicer than anything I'd be able to put together. They could obviously use some improvement yet, but they look pretty mean!

Thanks guys! @Reese, yeah, I already got complaints about my pictures being to dark by Hild-y, Rhino and Classical... :P I was trying to get a darker scene, because it was a night scene, so I shut out all the natural light... *sigh*, guess I won't try that again... :P

Nice work! The trolls look pretty nice, and the base is also great. The only big problem I have is the lighting. I would recommend either getting brighter, white lights or editing the photos and messing with the brightness levels. If you want help, you can reach me in Google hangouts. :)

Thanks guys! @Rhino no problem m8, I definitely didn't take it as bashing, I said that I wanted C&C, and rockwork suggestions from the rockwork master is most definitely welcome! :D I actually ran out of pieces for trees... :P And, I was getting low on pieces for good rockwork pieces, so my cave turned out bad... And, that is why I didn't put an individual picture for the cave... :D Again, thanks everyone for the comments! :D

Awesome work dude! The angle and the base is really unique, by far one of the best remakes of this scene:)

Awesome work Roanoke!! I love the trolls and the terrain! That must have been difficult building it on your bed...I don't think I could do that. I'll stay tuned for the rest m8 :D

Hey hadden! This is great! Roast mutton has to be one of my most favorite chapters in the Hobbit! I think you did an excellent job portraying the trolls (action figure technique), as well as the landscape and such... i would reccommend two things, first, adding more foliage to the ground as well as two or 4 more trees... second, making the cave in the back less of a flat top... i did this on one of my builds, and just remember not being to pleased with the look...maybe having it come up to more of a point, going with the corner shape, or ending the rockwork at uneven levels, and continueing the slop with grass and earth colored plates... again, awesome work m8! Love seeing a build from you again!

Very nice! The way you made "sacks" out of backwards capes was particularly clever.

As usual, the level of detail in the landscape and the giants is simply staggering! Awesome work mate!

Very nice! I really like the trolls, their whole design is simple yet effective. Though I do agree with Hildigrim Took, there may be one too many colours in the landscape, just in my opinion. Anyway, looking forward to seeing all of the models. :D

Love it! Maybe a few to many colors in the landscape with the olive in there but I really like it :D And the details included are great :D
