My 9 Year old daughter built this MOC for entry into a LEGO contest where the grand prize was a trip to LEGO headquarters where the winner would work with designers to turn the MOC into a 2017 LEGO Friends set.
About this creation
The contest was for children under 13 years old to build a new place for the LEGO Friends to hang out in Heartlake City. Then you had to upload your MOC to the LEGO Friends website for the designers to judge. My daughter worked very hard on this build and spent over 5 hours on it. Unfortunately there was only one MOC chosen out of thousands submitted.
We went to a 5 story high indoor rope and zip line course last year. My daughter based her design from that. She took some LEGO Friends parts from her sets and included them into the build to keep it in the LEGO Friends theme's style. I only helped her with problems like "how can I hook this together" and "I need LEGO ropes and nets." Other than that, it was her design and her building.
After entering the building, you first head over to the DJ booth and request your favorite song. Then you need to get a helmet from the rack. Safety first!
Next up is scaling the three story high climbing wall to reach the platform above.
With a firm grip on the handle, next you can zip from one end of the building to the other. The next platform is two stories below.
The zip line actually works with the mini doll (LEGO Friends figures are not minifigures!) zooming from one platform to another. I had to pinch the string between the handle and helmet to get figure to stay still so I could take pictures.
My daughter insisted on safety nets below the zip lines, just like the real thing. There are ladders so the people that fall can return to the ground level to try again. The mini doll in the photo is my daughter's sig fig.
For those that make a sucessful zip line crossing, there is a fun twisting slide to return you to ground level. On you butt. At least there is a cushy landing pad for those butts.
Here is a view of the outside of the building. She wanted to replicate the wall of windows we saw at the real life indoor zip line place.
She included a snack stand on the outside for frozen refreshments.
Hey, look, the LEGO Friends girls are on there way in to try out Heartlake City's newest attraction.

Wow! That's amazing! Have all the results been posted yet?
Yes they were posted before I put this on MOCPages. A girl won that built a LEGO Friends playground. There were hundreds of entries posted on LEGO's website each contest day (90 days) so there must have been thousands of kids building. It was a great contest to enter for my daughter and really got her mind working.
