1998 Chevrolet Corvette (C5)
Speed Champions/City scale Corvette.
About this creation
I've never been a huge fan of the Corvette. The 80's and 90's versions were always boring. Still, they are an iconic American sports car with a great exhaust sound. This is my SC/C version. Vroom! Enjoy!

I see a lot of "butt" shots from Corvette owners.

Forgive the washed out photo. My photobooth needs an upgrade, so white objects are difficult at the moment.

I really like this shot. The overall lines of the car are as I wanted.

I aimed for a low-slung car.

I think this car best shows the 'Vette.

The only compromise I made was on the front end. It doesn't taper quite as much as I wanted, but overall it works.

Thank you for viewing!

Quoting Scott Bertaut The back of the C7 is very nice, but I miss the pop up headlights and rather liked the more boxy fenders of older ones, especially the C4.
I always thought the C4-C6 was bland and boring. The original Stingray is probably still the most beautiful model. :-)

Quoting Sputnik The Third I'm normally not a fan of 90s cars period, but your model is really hard not to like. By the way good luck with the speed champions contest.

Quoting Scott Bertaut Very nice! I am really impressed how well the lines flow on this car, the side intakes, the flared fenders, even the tapering of the front is good. In fact it gives me some ideas for one of my many WIP, I did something majorly over complicated for the front tapering, and your simple approach actually looks better! Its funny too, I'm weird and the C4 and C5 are probably my favorite Corvettes.
Hey Scott! I really appreciate the awesome feedback! I'd lump this in the "lucky" category. I was driving home and saw a white C5 and decided to build it. As for the front, I tried maybe 3 variants, and the more complex I made them, the less they seemed to work. I applied Occam's razor with it. Ha. Never been a big Vette fan until the C7 personally. :-)

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Cool 90s Corvette. The rear looks great. The tapering on the front end is quite an issue on SC-scale... ~Cheers
thanks, Marc! Yes it is. The resolution potential is low, but a great challenge! :-)

Quoting Sven ;o) A beautiful model of the Corvette :) Very well done Jack. But I think the lighting is a bit too bright.
I appreciate the feedback! The issue is 2-fold: I don't have my proper photography lighting and I don't have my light box anymore. I have to build a new one. Sigh. :-)
