It's a comfy chair strapped to a bomb. What more could you ask for?!

Racer profile - Phat Mac

Always a loser, Phat Mac didn’t even qualify as an underdog. Throughout the expanse of Overkill Ovals, he never placed higher than fourth from last. His bad attitude and poor sportsmanship earned him groans and laughter when he would get eliminated very early in any given race. The other competitors wore it as an obligation and a badge of honor to take him out. Plus, Phat Mac’s tantrums gave everyone a boost of confidence in their own attitudes in the violent sport, showing each of them that no matter how pissed off and angry they may get, it’s not on a Phat Mac level.

But sh!t just got real.

After his embarrassing wreck ten feet into the first lap at the Antares 600 (it’s actually 500 miles, but as everyone knows the Antarians regard the number five as the highest insult to give someone in reference to questionable heritage unless it is followed by Mariachi music. And of course, Mariachi music is considered blasphemy in their religion. Some cultures, am I right?!), Phat Mac flew away in a fury in the direction of the Orion Spur and some little planet that used to be blue. There, he came across this black beauty that was labelled simply, “Nuclear Warhead: Handle with Care.” Figuring that it was just a really, really fast engine and not being the brightest brick in the six-pack, Phat Mac strapped a comfy chair he found to it and set off to take on all competitors.

His first race back with Little La-Z-Boy was his first win as everyone fled the premises.

A single stock footage taken from high orbit shows his win which was disastrously cut short when it was believed that he christened his new chariot with an empty bottle of Malort, which subsequently detonated the warhead.

Rest in peace Phat Mac. Even though no one liked or respected you, well... uhm... Rest in peace.

Quoting Builder Allan Hehe, this post sure made me laugh! That bomb is great, at first i thought it wasn't lego, but reading through the comments i see it actually is. The inspiration from the.. err, "gravitationally challenged man" device really shows :-)
Thank you Allan! Yup, 100% Lego there. May even work as a toilet float if I'm in a pinch. :D

Quoting VAkkron ™ That description is perfect. XD I'm optimistic to see where the news group takes itself. And good on Noir for encouraging you to go back. I would have recommended just the opposite, but I see now his reasons were much more mature than mine. Like it or not, you certainly are a heart and soul of this website, Matt. Oh yeah, nice bomb, too. ;)
Ha! Thank you VAk! I respect anyone that can and will stand up for themselves, Brick Noir is at the top of that list with me. I would not have considered it otherwise. I have high expectations for the group, and in spite of the rough start, I still see tremendous potential for it.

Quoting matt rowntRee A dose of impetuosity coupled with my rather blunt brevity amounted to a whole lot of nothing.

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Serious bomb! The only thing I would ask for, is two of them. Double the gun, double the fun... So, what is that MOCPAGES NEWS thing?
Thank you Marc! Two is always better than one, unless it's beer. Then two just isn't enough! :D Yeah, sort of a minor FUBAR that I feel is resolved now. A dose of impetuosity coupled with my rather blunt brevity amounted to a whole lot of nothing. I would like to say that the group is full of potential and would suffer without people like you in there. Check it out.

Quoting Bricks Noir First, let me say that this MOC is great. I can't help but to reminisce about Slim Pickens riding the nuke down to its target in Dr. Strangelove. My main reason for posting, though, is to encourage you to think about returning to MOCpages News. As you appear to be aware, pretty much all of the controversial material, including the "Controversy" section of Issue #2, has now been removed. While I know that I'd be mad as a hornet if I were in your shoes, consider taking some time and rejoining MOCpages News. In my opinion, any news outlet here on MOCpages would be incomplete without your involvement.
Thank you Bricks! Strangelove was definitely an influence here, the reference of "Nuclear Warhead: Handle with care" is directly from it. ;) I've considered returning to the group, but didn't want to be the de facto police by my simple presence. I'm not here to do that and it is their group to run as they see fit. I did read your own response in there and wish to thank you for the kind words. I think if it were anyone else asking, I would decline. But as it is you in particular, I will rejoin. Curiosity killed the matt, as it were. Maybe we should see how many lives I have. ;) Thank you again.

Quoting Clayton Marchetti I'm still trying to figure what you turned inside out to make this. I love the la-Z-boy name. Great play on the originals. I like those throttle controls on the arms too. Excellent job Brother!
Thank you Brother! The pieces are the tops to Bionicle canisters that they were packaged in. I searched BL to show Jeremy but I couldn't find them. I kept them because they had an awesome, industrial look. But they're really totally useless. At least I thought they were. ;)

Quoting Clayton Marchetti The very thought that Matt would hack a group is ridiculous. I've been invited to join this news group too, but if this is how they treat its members I want no part of it. opinions are not news and silencing those who don't share your opinion is just wrong.
They invited YOU! Now I really have to question their taste. XDDD All kidding aside, thank you, Brother. I feel that youth and enthusiasm has clouded a certain level of fairness and responsibility on their part. In their defense, they have removed the "Controversy" section and will hopefully not tilt at any more windmills. Let us hope that they are deserving of the same praise they offer the featured works in the group.

Quoting Jonathan Demers Well sir, I'm very sorry that you feel that way. That is not my intent for the group, and I have removed the controversy section from the paper and will not post or say anything about Bricks Noir in that format again. Let me repeat, I am not trying to spout off propaganda, and will never have something like that in the paper again! I agree, the format you describe is used only to preach an agenda. I am not trying to do that. As far as deleting the comments goes, I deleted ALL the comments for AND against it. I just want to drop this whole issue, and would appreciate it if you could too. If you can't do that, so be it. I thank you for staying calm through this whole discussion. I am also very glad that you did not hack the group, and I'm very sorry that I thought you did.
I suppose I should be flattered on some level at your assessment of my compooter skills in hacking your group; however, much like your due process and investigative abilities, I lack that particular talent. But more importantly, I could never do that as it is not in my nature to be that vindictive or base. Rest assured that I "dropped it" when I posted my response to your not wanting to discuss my question, "what is it that determines that Brick Noir's nudes are not art?" as you posited in your article. You failed to see that it is not a question I need an answer for, but rather a question YOU need to answer for yourself. All I can do is wish you and your group the best of luck because if you are going to succeed, you cannot disguise your bias as an inclusive News source of a website devoted to the creative process and the sharing of artwork.

Quoting Jeremy McCreary Love it -- historic atomic bombs with the classic rountRee treatment! Say, what are those big round black parts making up Phat Mac's body? I need them for tops.
Thank you Jeremy! They are both tops to Bionicle canisters that I've had for years. I tried to find them on BL but struck out.

Quoting Jonathan Demers Matt, I just wanted to apologize for kicking you out of the MOCpages news earlier...I was frustrated, and acted in the moment. I'm sorry man.
Let me get this straight here, Mr. Demers. I got invited into MOCpages News, I read an opinion that I didn’t agree with, I then asked a question for clarification in a chat thread about the article, I then was told that we’re not here to debate. I then pointed out that as a “News” source it would be unfair and one sided to quell debate. I explained that it is biased, propagandist, and preaching an agenda to do so for which I got banned from the group (I also said that this type of censorship exemplifies an abuse of power, but we won’t dwell on the fact that by banning me and deleting my two comments only proved my point. Well played there, sir.) I then get invited back in and out of morbid curiosity I go to the group to read that you said I resorted to name calling. Since I did no such thing, I have to assume you said this in order to bolster your rash decision. So, in short, I have been re-invited to a group where I am supposed to blindly follow, not ask questions, or debate an opposing side to an opinion. Would YOU join a group that did that to you?

Thank you Stuart! The funny thing is that Fat Man and Little Boy are hilariously cartoony, check out the REAL a-bombs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_Man Always glad to brighten everyone's day! :D Not with the bombs, that's just sick; but you understand. ;)
