My objectives for this project include: 1) To make it more solid and rigid in both forms. 2) To present it more realistic in vehicle form. 3) To present its robot mode more accurate to the original TV series style with better proportion (i.e. MP version of Takara Tomy toy line style).
I utilized the new ball joint pieces available for the major articulation and I am quite happy with the result.
According to the original toy which has pearl gold strip matched with dark green, it is just a perfect match colouring scheme.
In particular, the forearms and legs look more blocky now (which is the style most 80¡¦s ¡V 90¡¦s robots are).
Ball joint are used on it waist and legs.
In vehicle mode, there is a new way to do the side mirrors and the towing gear located at the front has been re-designed. I also used transparent tile to make the windshield because the traditional lego windshield is too small.
I made the wheelbase shorter (the distance between centerline of the front wheel and rear wheel) for a little bit. I believed it looks more realistic since a vehicle with high mobility should have a relatively short wheelbase. Ground clearance is still remain high to adapt the environment.
It still fits 2 mini-figures.
I included a small mud-guard into the vehicle instead of using slope piece to do the arch. Exhaust pipe and the spare wheel and tyre are at the back.
The 2 little back doors can be folded down.
Thank you for watching!
Coming up next, Mospeada Legioss (mini-figure scale), a robot which able to fully transform into a Ger-walk mode and Jet fighter. It is under final review stage.
Hound, instantly recognizable from the thumbnail, and one of my favorite Transformers. As usual your knack for rendering complex transformable models at a compact scale is impressive. Lovely model, sir. -M'Kyuun
Wow...and I thought your original Hound was amazing! This version is spectacular! Robot mode is fantastic and Jeep mode doesn't give anything away! Those ball joints are so great for Lego Transformers aren't they? I can't wait to see other updates as well as that sneak preview MOC!
