TT 2017 R1: Obstacle Course
Hello! Here is my Round 1 build for the Tourney! By Roanoke Handybuck!
About this creation
I chose to build for the Obstacle Course Category, Tourney Linky, my guild is Shadowflame...

Story:

"Hello again! I, Stuttgart, traveled from the inn, by boat, to the rough wavy waters of another sector of Pescado, after arriving at the shore, thanked the captain, and I was off, I began to journey to the obstacle course, following the trail blazes along the way. As I followed along the path, I began to hear voices ahead, I began to get excited, and started jogging with my bow along the path until I reached a line of people. As I looked around them, I saw a various series of obstacles and as the line began to move, my heart began to pound quicker, and harder. Eventually it came where I was second in line, and as the person in front left, I gave him a quick "Good luck!" in all my excitement, he turned around, and smiled at and said "As for you!" As he finished up, I stepped ahead, ready to start. I knew that when I touched the first obstacle, the count was on. The time keeper, who was ready to start the two minute countown, said "You are good to go sir!" I jolted forth, with loads of energy. I made quick use of the first obstacle, which was to climb a tree, and leap to the first obstacle. I then whipped out my bow, and shot at the first target, it sailed, going for a 9 on the target, but dropped low, and hit the 7, I winced, as I knew that continuous shots like that wasn't going to win the training. I quickly scurried up a rope, and on to my second shot, I pulled back, aimed, and fired, this time dropping dropping in the 9, I shrugged in my head as I climbed for my next archery shot. I reached the top landing, aimed, and fired, hitting just to the right getting the score of 8. I twitched, then climbed onto the chain, which was hanging across the two wooden structures. As I made it halfway across, I began to feel the strain in my muscles, I pulled myself up to the top of the chain, and began moving again, but I soon feel the fatigue setting in, along with a small cramp, I moaned quietly, and began to move again, I reached the other platform, and hopped up. Drew my bow, and fired, getting a 10, but just to the bottom left, not quite a bullseye, I then swiftly hopped down, and fired my last shot, which landed in the top right corner of the bullseye. I then hopped down, and landed on the ground, ending my training course run... I smiled, knowing I would move on, as the results came in, the time keeper yelled "In first we have Dresden, second Leipzig, third Rostock, fourth Stuttgart, and fifth Bremerhaven!" Stuttgart smiled, as he felt he did good..."~Stuttgart

Fourth wall commentary:

This build is on a 48 x 36 baseplate, and is my first ever all SNOT rockwork, the rockwork, is my favorite part, and I think it is really a star of the build, the cove, is an entrance to an old mine, and up above is the training course... I originally planned for the training course to be in the cave, but decided against it, as I ran out of dark bley slopes...

Here are some WIP pictures:

Thanks for viewing!

I hope you enjoyed!

Constructive criticism and comments are accepted, so please tell me what I can improve!

Quoting C Stucky Nice rockwork! I especially enjoy the cave. The grassy land above looks cool as well and the obstacle looks daunting. I liked how you used the course as training in your story. I also enjoyed the fact that your character is (more or less) human and not perfect, feeling pain, firing a bit less than perfect, etc. For the win, Go Shadowflame!
Thanks Stucky! Glad you read the story! :D Go shadowflame!

Beautiful result, I really like the shaping and design of the rock element! And the colors are used well to pop and create a really neat cove!

I think the gaps at the top could've been covered a bit better, but the rocks look great! Nicely shaped.

Thanks guys! Yeah, the gaps are my main problem here, actually, I ran out of green plates, as I don't use them much... That is why there is that huge gap. :P I also ran out of 1 x dark bley slopes, therefore, I kinda had to just finish it off roughly...

I don't like the the gaps between the rock and the greenery, but the rest looks great! A little more to the obstacle course would look nice too. Good luck, I really like it.

Hey! Cool Roanoke!!! Great rock work!!! One suggestion though, maybe intersperse the snot work with normal rockwork, just to give it a little more randomness/not as many gaps..... just a thought.... Cool cove! Keep it up m8!!!

Wow. That's huge. What a great entry. The border could have used a bit more regularity, I think, but that's really all I can give in terms of critique.
