Toa Taliara hails from what is now Ta-Akota. In her time, Taliara was the land’s most-renowned taratara player- a popular competitive sport which involved striking numerous targets with a large spiked ball. While gentle at heart, Taliara possessed a fierce competitiveness- a fiery passion which would ignite into an awe-inspiring display of raw power and refined stratagem on the field. With this passion came a fiery temper, one which even the turaga were wary of inciting. Nevertheless, Taliara was revered by many for her remarkable capabilities and loving nature.

Upon becoming a toa, Taliara’s fervor sparked into a phenomenon known as the “black flame.” It is unknown where black flame originated, but legends state that only those of a Ta-matoran lineage touched by darkness possess this ability. Whispers of discontent soon swelled into violent hysteria as Ta-matoran came to loath Taliara for her dark power. Driven from her home, Taliara sought the one being she believed could help her- Toa Kiora.

Taliara beseeched Kiora to “cure” her of her dark attributes. Ultimately, Kiora denied the request, for she did not perceive it a curse nor did she believe herself to possess the ability to purge the dark from Taliara. Empathizing with Taliara’s plight, Kiora desired to aid her in making peace with her new self. Unbeknownst to them, their newfound friendship would soon blossom into a far-deeper bond.

Taratara Flail

A long chain whip with a taratara ball fastened to its end- Taliara's taratara ball to be precise. The immense size and weight of this weapon is a testament to Taliara's strength even as a matoran. When ignited, the flail leaves dazzling streaks of black flame in the air.

Kiora enjoys teasing Taliara affectionately.

Affection reciprocated.

Quoting Wertman 8 "When the chest pieces are two, a flame alighteth. Thou'rt a MOCcist, and the pieces befit thee, of course..." Nice MOC! While generally I'm not huge into MOCs that try to be 'thicc' (as them dang youth puts it), I think it's done quite well here... CCBS definitely works better for it than the Bionicle pieces of yore. I think the implied relationship between her and Kiora is quite cute, too; it almost makes me wish there was a series to go along with your MOCs (whether that be text, fumetti or animation), just to see all these awesome MOCs interact with each other; I'd certainly be an avid reader! I love the feet, too- they're very classily done. You did a fantastic job here! :D
Thank you. (#^_^) Love the Souls reference by the way. I really wanted to make a more rubenesque moc that wasn't too over-the-top. Anyways, I'm hoping to flesh out their story in the future. That will be quite some time from now, for I still have so many characters to post and so much world building to do.

Oh, I love that flail... I really, really do. The flail sells the whole moc for me. Can't beat that flail. Ehrm, moving on from the subject of the flail (which is excellent) the moc is excellent as well, nicely breaking the monotomy of the thin, sleek female character, which gets a tad overdone nowadays. I also love the usage of the two silver parts (whose proper name escapes me at the moment) on the sides of the head. Though the body is slightly too small compared to the limbs.

Quoting Ivan Toa of Ingenuity This is pretty average moc, good color scheme but it needs more silver, you cant see to much detail. I loved the backstory but the main thing holding this back is the amount exaggeration on the females anatomy. You should defiantly tone that down a notch... Or few.
I would recommend checking out the Flickr gallery. MOCpages tends to down-res my photos, making it more difficult to see the finer details. I originally included a small amount of silver in the feet, but I felt it actually detracted from the look. As for your critiques regarding her anatomy, this was purely intentional for it is reflective of my fiancee's curvaceous physique. Anyways, thank you for your constructive criticism.
