LEGO search and chew dog
Did that part you dropped just vanish into thin air? If that happens to you as often as it does to me, you need one of these!
About this creation
You know the drill: You drop the part -- usually the last of its kind and the key to the project. You hear it bounce away and follow the sound. Next thing you know, you've been on your hands and knees with a flashlight for 15 minutes, and still no sign of the blasted thing!

Well, that's become a thing of the past around here: My trusty LEGO® search and chew dog (not to be confused with search and rescue dog) now comes bounding in at the sound of the first bounce and goes right to the lost part from any room in the house. No training at all!

All I have to do is chase her down and take it away before she bites down -- which of course rarely succeeds.

But that's OK. If I can't use the part again, at least I've got closure. And if it was a piece I tore the place apart looking for, I'll be spared the anguish of calling off the search, never to know its fate. Instead, I'll be able to look on as that sneaky little two-timing piece of plastic gets what it deserves.

I needed some other stuff from BrickLink anyway.

∨ You know the look: What?? There's nothing in my mouth.

When all the lost LEGO® has been found and chewed, she waits diligently for the next drop with the help of her basketball.

Quoting Nils O. Oh, so sweet. She looks like a twin sister of our male "Terrier mix" we had like 15 years ago. She even has the white mark on the chest and the "folded ears" like our dog had. And yes, I have a few Technic bricks with the same bite marks ;-))
Thanks, Nils! I bet you miss him. Best guess for Roxie is a miniature pinscher-terrier mix.

Quoting Gabor Pauler Its high time to design adaptive force control openable muzzle for the dog to limit the force he can bite on lego brick found. What about some pneumatics or linear actuators???
Great idea, Gabor! How about remote control maglev dentures with built-in microprocessors? When do you think you can have them ready?

Quoting Jesse Long Bad Doggy! I had a cat that tried that once and when I sprayed some special spray to get them to quit messing with LEGO, they learned not to do it anymore. I also had dogs that tried to do that and I fixed that problem in the exact same manner.
Thanks, Jesse! I may give that a try.
