Well, I'm new to this whole "Introduction" thing, so we'll see how this goes. I'm Sornan, proud captain of Nerogue. I'm supposed to say something poetic here, but I've found that poetry is entirely impractical, and should generally be avoided. All I have to say on the topic of my story is that sometimes, the odds are greater than you expect. The only thing to do is roll with it and hope for the best.
About this creation
We walked quietly. We did so because we were in enemy territory: namely, the land surrounding Lyomere, the rebel city. I was flanked by two new recruits to the Neroguian army: Corryn, who for whatever reason went about in full armor, and Josef, who appeared barely to know one end of a sword from another.
This would be interesting.
Our task was, of course, to lend the resistance our aid. What the three of us could do was beyond me, but I wasn't one to question the judgement of the Council.
It was without a sound that the knight stepped into our path from behind a nearby tree.
"Halt, by order of Sir Andriq, Knight of Mythron and King Sadon," he barked. Unfortunately, judging by the gleaming longsword he held at the ready, it seemed that this bark was not to be worse than his bite.
I began to explain myself. "We don't want any trouble-"
"Not likely," he cut in, obviously sneering behind the mask. "Three fully armed warriors, wandering the countryside near Lyomere, a festering pit of rebellion, without any intention of joining said rebellion? And dirty Neroguians at that?"
I was liking this prig less and less. "Well, these dirty Neroguians have pressing business elsewhere, so if you would be so kind as to step aside, we'll be on our way."
The knight grinned, or so I guessed. "Again. Not likely."
He gestured past us with the point of his blade.
It seemed the lone paladin was not as alone as it had first appeared. Josef opened his mouth like a beached fish and stumbled backward - as I had expected. However, I was surprised to see that Corryn's blade was in his hand as quickly as mine. More experienced than I had at first thought, then?
This point was driven home as the cloaked warrior twisted his body to avoid being cloven by the halberdier at his back. Josef fell backward ungracefully and happened to escape death by a hair's breadth. I, for one, raised my shield to ward of the oncoming spear thrust - sloppy, incidentally; these Mythronian foot were truly a disgrace - and turned my attention to Sir Andriq.
We traded blows, each gauging the other's prowess and fitness. He was good, I found; for all his men's inadequacy, a knight of Mythron was never to be underestimated. Unfortunately for him, I was better. I held my own.
The same could not be said of Corryn. After his initial burst of agility, his armor proved more than he had bargained for. One cannot move at one's full ability in full plate, regardless of skill, and the halberdier was well aware of this fact. He hammered away, taking full advantage of Corryn's jerky movements.
There was a prolonged rip, and Corryn's hood tore free, dangling from his adversary's blade. Andriq glanced in that direction, and tensed in recognition, his sword holding mine at bay.
Corryn gazed back, his shoulders slumping slightly.
"Yes," he replied resignedly. "Me. It's been a while, Andriq."
The knight heaved me back against the tree, then charged Corryn, gesturing the halberdier away.
"You are a traitor to Mythron, Sadon, and the Order of the Knights!" he bellowed, brandishing his steel. "Your cowardice will be avenged, as will Claudius' death!"
Corryn raised his own blade - which, I now noticed, was of almost identical make to his assialant's - and the two met with a mighty clang. Corryn was a strong fighter, but Andriq had just obtained his second wind. He soon pushed his victim far from the rest of us.
Josef, nearly forgotten by the rest of us, slipped between the two incompetents dogging him and dashed after his comrade.
"Huh," I mused, now faced with all of Andriq's thugs. "So much for the squad."
I readied myself. I would, of course, win this battle. After all, it was three on one.
Hey, I actually entered! Yesterday I wouldn't have guessed. This was built in a total of about 3 hours, starting this afternoon.
Also of note is the fact that this is my first build as an LOM staffie! Expect some bossing around and random hints at group secrets coming soon!
On to the build. I'm fairy happy with it overall, except, of course, for the color palette. Light grey, brown, black, dark red, sand green, olive, bright green, and tinges of blue and silver ALL IN ONE 20x20 VIG. *shudder*
Anyway, here is figless:
The tree. Easily the best I've done. Sadly, still horrendous.
One side of the border (they're all practically the same). Notice the statuettes, depicting Mythron's two national animals: the falcon, and the cow.
You may have noticed that three of these characters are not mine. This is because my brother, The Pizzamaker, is starting fresh with a brand new character and story. Unfortunately, this would mean that his old story, which I was quite fond of, would be over. Fortunately, he has turned all of his characters over to me to do what I please with. He'll post one more build after this one bringing them to a good spot, then introduce his new character in the Tourney.
Well, the Tourney is coming, as well as big happenings in LOM - Mythron in particular. Stay tuned for more danger, suspense, and LOTS of fighting!

Well, the base is well made, but the problem I have is how crowded the vignette is some times.
Indeed. As I've said, this was an extremely last-minute build, and I couldn't have made it bigger without more time, and I couldn't do without any of the characters. I'll bear that in mind, though, for later vigs. Thanks for the comment!

Can't wait to read the story, and btw, how do get more than 8 pictures in one post?
Thanks! There are two ways: 1. Upload in multiple batches. Just open the uploader more than one time. 2. Get Firefox, update Java, and use the fancy new uploader (what I did). It's worth it, it took me about two minutes to upload all of these.
