On November 29, 2016 at 2:09 PM, FDLC firefighters in Division 3 were dispatched to a working structure fire at 111 Hudson St in Mattropolis. When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke pushing from the first and second floors. Multiple lines were stretched to battle the blaze, however due to the age of the building, flames were able to easily extend up the walls and flash out of control. Firefighters were forced to evacuate as flames began venting through the roof. The fire was held to a 2nd Alarm assignment with the following units assigned,
1st Alarm: Engines 23, 59, 79, 88, Trucks 23, 25, Rescue 3, RAC 3, Air 3, Battalions 11,15, Division Chief 3.
2nd Alarm: Engines 25, 34, 83, Trucks 60, 83, Battalion 18
