Rapidly designed and built after the horrible defense the UE Military showed during the Pluto Raids of 2117-2122... Incorporated old world naval and land based technology into a Stealth Space Destroyer... Commonly referred to as the UE's "Pocket Battleship."
About this creation
Minifigure to Scale
~ History ~
The UE Vengeance Class Dreadnought was the result of the then fledgling UE Military Fleet realizing that slightly up-gunned Independence and Moscow Class Freighters where not going to cut it. The freighters which fought admirably during the Pluto raids of 2117-2122 were just not enough. Their armor was to weak and the armament was not good enough. Once it was realized that the Aliens were making a push straight for Earth it was decided to design and build a ship which could defend against the Alien invaders on the final battle ground: Earth.
~ Design ~
The ships were to employ an advanced navigational system. This was because the Vengeance used the Wormhole Generator that the US and Russia continued to develop after the failed experiments performed by the UE Discovery. This allowed to ship to teleport into the fight, fire its guns at its target, and teleport out of the space. This also allowed for prime positioning in stealth positions.
The Living area was a typical setup, Zero-G beds, and Food rehydrator with Water tap. There was no shower but there was a toilet located between the Hot/Cold Storage and the forward Ammo Rack.
The Engines were the same as used on the Moscow Class Freighter. However the were the Vb version engines which were fixed of the flaws of the initial Va Engines. These were chosen because of the shear pushing power they offered over the Independence Class GE 420-69B Engines.
The Life Support system was a Doubled-Up Version of the same type used on the Discovery. It was shown that the system was not only good at long term Air Scrubbing, but could be used in short term bursts. This was perfect to cleanse the air of the fumes from the 4 120mm Main Guns.
Engineering employed 3 GE Cold Fusion Reactor Mk. IIIm. The (m) stood for Miniaturized, which was needed in order to fit the proper power plant needed into the small space allowed in the rear of the ship.
The outside of the ship featured dark paint to absorb enemy sensors and hide the ship against the backdrop of space.
The Armament was taken from the Independence Class Freighter and the old world M1A3 Abrams Main Battle Tank. The Vengeance employed 4 120mm Anti-Tank turned Anti-Ship Cannons, which fired HEAP (High Explosive Armor Penetrating) ammunition from a 6 round autoloader for a total volley of 24 rounds. The theory behind the ammunition choice was that the round would initially penetrate into the enemy ship and then explode. While against a tank this wouldn't be the best ammunition, against the relatively lightly armored Capital Ships the Aliens used this proved devastating. The Aliens employed shields for the ships to block energy weapons, however their armor was extremely weak against kinetic weapons. This resulted in the relatively small 120mm hole becoming a much larger hole in the ship spanning multiple decks. When the Main Armament was not called for, or to protect it from swarming fighters, the Vengeance employed 6 General Dynamics High Gain Laser Turrets. The Vengeance carried enough ammunition for 5 volleys of 24 rounds.
Armament: 4x Rheinmetall 120 mm Gun with 6 Round Autoloader, 6x General Dynamics High Gain Laser Turrets
Armor: 15-20 Feet
Length: 406 Feet
Width: 87 Feet
Height: 63 Feet
~ Service Life ~
This ship was designed to take part in the Battle for Earth from 2125-2145. With only 30 completed by the time the fighting began there just were not enough of them to halt the Alien advance. However only one ship was lost due to crew error and over 540 enemy capital ships were taken down, over 75% of the then Alien fleet. With a kill ratio of 548:1 it is said by both sides that if the UE had produced the full 50 ships that they wanted to the Battle For Earth would have drawn on for a few more years with the eventual victory by the Humans... 20 Ships... Humanity was 20 ships short of keeping their home planet. The Vengeance served along side the Wasp Fighter and the Abott Class Heavy Frigate, and even today serves alongside the Excalibur Class Heavy Cruiser. It will be removed from service when the UNSC Launches the soon to be laid down "Challenger Class Super Dreadnought"... It is said that the Challenger will be the largest ship Humanity has ever produced by a large margin, the building time estimated is around 65 years. In comparison, the Excalibur Class Heavy Cruisers take around 10 years to construct.
~ Experimental Prototypes ~
After the Battle for Earth the UE Vengeance was renamed the UNSC Vengeance and put in service with the UNSC Space Navy. During this time a couple of Vengeance Class Dreadnoughts were modified under license from the UNSC Military Black Projects Program this saw the creation of different ships such as the UNSC 001DX "Black Behemoth" by the Oran Space Works, a secret UNSC Contractor that specializes in undocumented projects. The Black Behemoth was the UNSC's first attempt to incorporate a Warship with the ability to carry its own fighters into battle. These were in the form of modified engine pods which protruded out from the sides of the ship. The ship carried 8 of these "fighters." In 2156 the UNSC 001DX was lost in a raid against the Martian colonies. The ship and its 8 fighters were able to hold out long enough for friendly ships to arrive due to the fighters covering the ship, and the ship covering the fighters. However the ship was hit by friendly fire from the UNSC 003D "Striker" who was under command of an inexperienced crew at the time and the Black Behemoth was struck by 2 120mm rounds from the Striker's bottom turret, there were no survivors. While no more than an experimental prototype, the ship fought valiantly when there were no such plans to send the ship into battle. As such the concept of a battleship with its own fighter force is being reborn again in the Challenger Class Super Dreadnought.

The cockpit of the Vengeance featuring the pilots area, two gunnery seats (One for each turret), and the captain who floats behind them.
The Medical Bed to the left and the Mission Computer to the right, in the event the ship took a hit that hurt crew members, but did not puncture the hull, the medical bed was to be used to treat their wounds. Also used for common sickness.
The Airlock on the Right side of the vessel, the only weak point in the ships armor and the only way in and out of the ship. During battle Vengeance crews would hide the right side of the ship from enemy fire. In the foreground one can see the Food rehydrator, and the water tap. In the immediate foreground one can see five of the six Zero-G beds, one for each crew member. Behind the turret loading tube one can just make out the Cold Storage bin which is atop the hot storage bin for food and supplies for the crew. Beside the airlock is the space suit used to leave the ship. Forward of the airlock one can see the mission computer the crew would use to keep tabs on their current objective.
The loading bay for each of the turrets, being that the Vengeance was a Zero-G ship, the loading was a one man job, spent shells are ejected out of the rear of the turrets into space.
The Ammo Storage of the Vengeance took up a majority of the interior space, each 120mm anti tank gun featured a 6 round autoloader, for a volley of 12 rounds from one of the turrets, there where two turrets meaning that the ship could launch a volley of 24 HEAP (High Explosive Armor Penetrating) Rounds at enemy ships before needing to reload. with the 24 rounds pre-loaded in the turrets there are enough rounds for five (5) full 24 round volleys.
Main life Support, The Vengeance featured a larger life support system than any other UE vessel to deal with extracting the fumes from the twin turrets which featured two 120mm anti-tank guns turned anti-capital ship armament.
Main Engineering of the Vengeance, The Vengeance used experimental Triple Compact Reactors to allow for the same power output as normal sized reactors, but in a smaller space due to the massively thick armor the ship featured.

This is it, this is the last ship that needed building in order to catch up the LDD Not So Distant Future Earth Story with what ive done so far in real life... the next ship I make will be one completely original, and not an LDD reproduction (I say reproduction, but actually its been so long that the only one reproduced that I knew for sure how to reproduce was the SK-434-T. Everything else I have taken some "Artistic Liberties" with.) I will try to make the next ship be the Challenger... I've got a design in my head, however I'm not sure if my crappy laptop could handle the piece requirement for such a ship... I'll see how it goes...
This should also be a fairly sturdy ship if built, due to the shear "Armor" thickness the roof and floor plates are solid.
If you're wondering why the description is sort of lacking... Uploading a new MOC and talking about it in a loud College Cafe is a tough thing to do... so i'm going to say that there isn't much on the ship because this is all that's been declassified so far hehe.
I have to give a shout out to Oran Cruzen for building the Black Behemoth, and rendering the ships, thanks a lot man!
