The L85 rifle variant of the SA80 family has been the standard issue service rifle of the British Armed Forces since 1987, replacing the L1A1 variant of the FN FAL. The improved L85A2 remains in service today. The remainder of the family comprises the L86 Light Support Weapon, the short-barrelled L22 carbine and the L98 Cadet rifle. Now, here it is in lego form.
About this creation
So here is my second bullpup the lego L85A2 made up of 1624 bricks.
A closer look of the design. From the bottom the build was 5 studs wide, followed by 4 studs and finally 3 studs wide for the rail system.
I tried to make the handguard as triangular as possible. The real handguard has an access cover on the handguard. Flipping up the cover on the real one reveals the gas system.Unfortunately, I could not add this element in my design.
The two images above thow the charging fully to the rear and fully to the front.
Lastly, a final shot looking through the sights
Update:I made a railed handguard to replace the standard version.560 bricks are used for the model.Cover can be flipped to reveal the gas system.
