Governor Drayven receives a warning from whom he thought was an old friend.
About this creation
It's a rather average, if overcast day on the Imperial airbase. Stormtroopers march past on their way to deployments while Governor Drayven consults a captain about the airbase's newest vehicle.
Captain Aldin: "As you can see, the TIE Advanced may require some fine-tuning before it's ready to fly. Adjustments, however slight, have to be made to account for the new atmosphere."
Governor Drayven: "I understand that, but regardless, I would like that fighter airborne as soon as possible. These air raids are becoming more and more common."
The two are interrupted as a custom speeder arrives, loaded by shock troopers and a man in a similarly colored uniform.
And who should step out but Matthias Slade, Director of Imperial Acquisitions and Production.
Slade: "Thank you for the lift, Captain Grimm. I'll be fine on my own from here on."
Grimm: "Of course, Director."
Drayven hurries forward to greet his old protégé.
Drayven: "Matthias! It's excellent to see you again after all these years. Director, eh? Never thought I'd see you up there with the likes of Krennic and Isard, but you continue to impress me."
Slade: "I have limited time, Warrick. I'm here to catch a shuttle to my Star Destroyer and nothing else. However, there is a reason I chose this particular airfield - I need to talk to you."
Drayven: "Why, of course. Are you sure you don't want coffee first?"
Slade: "I'm in a hurry. Please don't interrupt me. I have a message straight from Grand Moff Tarkin - you must pick up the pace against the rebels in your region."
Drayven's smile drops at the mention of Tarkin.
Drayven: "But you must understand, we're doing what we can. If you could arrange for more resources to my area-"
Slade: "You have more than enough to work with, Governor. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get to my shuttle."
Drayven: "What is Tarkin's timeframe? Please, give me something more to work with."
Slade: "If you can't put the Rebels down within an acceptable timeframe and without good reason, you clearly aren't fit to govern this region. I have a responsibility to the entire Empire - your personal career is of no concern to me. Good day, Governor."
Director Slade briskly walks away, heading towards his personal shuttle to leave the planet. As he does, Captain Aldin approaches the Governor's side.
Aldin: "Your orders, Governor Drayven?"
Drayven: "Summon Agent Nooram and Lord Corvus at once. Get us everything you have on the local Rebel cell."
Here is the minifigure of Matthias Slade, Director of Imperial Acquisitions and Production. I was inspired by the incoming minifigure of Director Orson Krennic, and I chose a red cape to denote Slade's different position. If I make any more directors in the future, expect them to have different cape colors!
You are very good at taking the sets you have and making a good background to your stories! I could never do that! I can see that you put a very good amount of thought into this story. Speaking of which, I like your story line!
