A long time ago, in a livingroom not so far, far away, I made this custom X-wing UCS set :) I started this build when the first trailer of Episode 7 came out, but it took quite a while to build and get all the parts. That's why I just uploaded it now. Let's take a better look at it ;)
About this creation
This is a picture from around april this year. At that point the model was almost complete, just some small parts missing.
Some more W.I.P pics... I just had to close up the sides of the main body and some details on the engines.
A lot of time went into designing and redesigning the engines. I wanted to get a perfect circle once the S-Foils were closed. I was quite happy with the result you see here:
Some pictures with the model complete apart from some 1x2 grille pieces for the engines... I went for dark grey ones to get some more colour variation in the model. I chose dark blue and regular blue to mimic the weatered look of the lines on the ship and the white/light bluish grey combo for the rest of the ship.
The model all finished :) I applied some extra stickers from my Original Red Five X-Wing UCS set
A close up of the engines:
The X-wing next to it's enemy, my custom First Order Special Forces TIE-Fighter. I'm very happy with the result of these two build. Although both of them were MODS, they were quite challenging to get some of the details right: The wings on the X-wing and the round parts next to the cockpit of the TIE.
I want to thank some people for helping me out with this custom:
