The iconic Porsche 959 needs no introduction.
About this creation
The Porsche 959 needs no introduction. Its beautiful design made it popular, it successes in races made it iconic, featuring elements that were a decade ahead of its time when it was created in the late '80s. It was one of the first real supercars.

There are a lot of 911's on this site, and only a few 959's. So I made one.

These headlights look like the headlights of the 930 but any alternative method made it worse.
Did you notice the old round 1x1 bricks without groove? This car started when I saw them laying next to the headlights. They don't fit that well anymore though, I had to put some tiny pieces of red paper between them to keep them from falling apart.

I wish I could add the air intakes in corners of the bumpers and above the engine, but I don't like to put on stickers or marker ink. I tried a whiteboard marker to add a few black lines but it looked ugly, so finally I decided to leave it as it is.

Please tell me what you think!

Quoting Sam the First I feel the wheels are a tad small, but that gives the model character! A really cool little model, it's hard to get a 911 to look like a 911, and you did a great job!
Thanks Sam!

Quoting Paulo D. It's my favorite car in the world and you did it justice. I enjoy the details and techniques around, specially since it's in a 6-wide scale :)
Thanks! much appreciated :)

Quoting André Fontes Pretty cool car. It's quite hard to accomplish the rounded design of this kind of cars into Lego bricks, mainly on smaller scales, but yours is already a cool replica you were able to get the shape on it, as well as some nice functions. Maybe if you tried some bigger wheels and round a bit more the design with some slope pieces, it would be even better! Getting one of those Speed Champions sets can be a good supply of parts for a good price, too.
Thanks for your comment and tips! I actually did try bigger wheels first. But the benefit of these wheels is that I only need a gap of 2 bricks and with anything bigger it's 4. Perhaps that could be reduced to 3 with some tricks but that would require making it even higher and that would ruin the scale (It's already 2/3s of a brick to high). The upper half would look better if it was 4-5 studs wide but I couldn't get that done with it still looking good.
