Porsche 911
About this creation

Now this one was quite a struggle. I've been wanting to build a minifig scale 911 for ages, but it's quite hard to capture such an iconic shape in bricks. I went through numerous designs before ending up with this. Hope you guys like it!

Very nice. I would change the windscreen for a steeper one (3 studs long instead of 4), That would also give the sensation of a longer hood...

It is very difficult to get the shaping of a Porsche correct in Lego form, let alone in only 6-wide format. Great job!

Just perfect! No need to have a title, the images are sufficient to identify the car instantly. Awesome!

Hi Petey, I would love to see your Turbo version. I was thinking of adapting your front end to a 934.5 race car version. I've not been building much either until this week, my kids have been sick off and on since December.

Aah, that's a cool idea! After I wasn't satisfied with the turbo, I tried turning it into a 935 K3 that was 7 studs wide at the rear. I finished that one, but then wasn't satisfied with the front end which didn't slope downwards enough. Eventually I used the technique of that car to create a 7 wide supercar that I'll post soon. I've updated the normal 911 in the meantime, and I'll post that soon as well. Good health to your kids!

Quoting Blaine R. Hey Petey, I just finished my GT3 RS Speed Champions car based on the strong points of your 911. Check it out: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/434356 I of course gave you full credit for your work and mentioned you numerous times.
Hey Blaine, that's so cool! I've been wanting to post some pictures explaining how this 911 was built, but I've recently moved and then went on a 3 week holiday. My Lego is still packed right now, but I see you've back-engineered the 911 already. Great work! Right before packing I finished a turbo version that's 7 wide at the rear, but I'm not completely satisfied with it so I didn't post it here yet. I'm sure to post some additional 911's based on this one later though.

Two words: Lego Ideas. This has a very, very good chance at making it, as it seems similar to speed champions sets. Keep up the fantastic work!

Beautiful MOC, amazing detail. I have just started working in this scale and glad to see others are too. Might have to "borrow" a few techniques.

Quoting Builder Allan Brilliant! Extremely accurate for this scale. Looks like you built yet another car i'll have to 'reverse engineer' to add to my own town :-)
Thanks Allan! I'll save you some trouble by uploading some pics that show how this moc was made soon. I hope I'll get to it this weekend. Cheers!

Very nice. Lego's should have looked like this to begin with. I'm always a fan of brick headlights and taillights instead of stickers.

Good job. I think it's pretty hard to capture the look of the 911 especially in a smaller scale but you got it!

Quoting Luuk S As said before, possibly the best 911 I've seen (on this scale or any scale). I can't figure out how you connected the headlights. Could you tell me more about that?
Hi Luuk, thanks for your kind words. As Justin indicates, I've used those bricks. I've put a small technic pin with a stud on it inside, on which the actual 'light' is mounted.

Awesome! Looks exactly like the real thing. @Luuk: it looks like he used these for the headlights: http://brickset.com/parts/6019987

Quoting Blaine R. That is a much better 911 than the Speed Champions set! Do you have instruction you could post ?
Hi Blain, Thanks for your kind comment. I never build digitally, so I don't have any instructions for it. I'm working on another 911 that I will upload later, and then I'll add some pictures of how it was built.
