Overhaulin' the 8860
This is my vision of the iconic 8860 Car Chassis modernized with a 2016 look.
About this creation

I received the 8860 set for Christmas back when I was 5 or 6 years old, and it is probably my favorite set of all time.. Even though it was a bit unrealistic, I just loved the cool color scheme, watching the pistons pump in the flat 4 cylinder engine, and fascinated by how the rear differential worked.. This is my vision of what the iconic Car Chassis would look like in 2016.. Completely studless with added front suspension, a 4 speed gearbox, and 6 cylinder engine.

Genius! This was the Technic set of my childhood and it was an exciting Christmas when I finally got hold of it. Technic sets come and go at an alarming rate nowadays, rather than lasting the years that they use to. Your model is a perfect reworking of this classic and it's great to see it such detail.

Great classic! For me as well a set I got for my birthday and still is my favorite. You instantly recognize the color scheme which to me is still perfect. Good work. Ackermann steering as well?

I've seen many versions of the 8860 but this one both stays true to the original and is looking awesome. Respect. I think you've had a great time building/designing this!

Very cool! Nick Barret just did a similar thing with 853, which was my super Christmas present when I was 5-6 years old :-)) So I perfectly understand what 8860 means to you. Your New Technic transformation is perfect, it just looks like the original converted into a studless model. It think it even would work as a set today. Great job! :-))
