It's a model I had a lot of fun building. As soon as I saw that military competition is on again, and as soon as I read the rules of each category the idea for one of those came instantly. So I had to do an armored transporter, weaponized, of course with 10 minifigs of which 3 are crew members, the rest are troops and came up with HIMOS or (High Mobility & Speed) armoured vehicle. It's designed to be able to move fast out of any situation, That's why it's got 2 drivers so the front can be back and vice versa. That's why it looks like a mirror image so to speak. Drivers also operate 2 machine guns while driving and that's how the guy who's not driving also becomes a tail gunner. Now why is this a good idea? Well I thought, it sure beats turning like a normal vehicle when there is a danger in sight. The other guy just takes over driving and you're out. Commander, however would operate the heavy stuff on the turret.
About this creation
some views on the whole appearence
Without front/back machine guns + a view on the ground clearance enabling better off-road capabilities
WEAPONS - top turret with 20 mm machine guns spins a full 360, front/back + up and down a bit. Four 12.7 mm machine guns spin 270 and up and down.
front/back hatch and the main side doors.
I added something no army can do without these days, I guess - Yes, it's got a drone in the turret for mostly recon purposes.
A little close-up on the machine guns and the drone
DRIVE. It's got 4 wheelbases shaped like an equilateral triangle which centar is idle so whenever tracks run into an obstacle they just flip over it. I thought it would be nice if those wheelbases each had an engine in their very core (armoured, of course) moving the tracks directly. So 4 of these engines would move it pretty quick out of any trouble, I'm guessing and that also leaves a lot of room inside for the crew and some additional armouring. Steering is, of course skid
The whole crew with 2 drivers and the commander. The rest are couple of sharpshooters and regular soldiers. Those SW clone troopers fit right in the whole picture with their camouflage suits.
Very cool, especially the all terrain chassis. I'm not such a fan of military vehicles, so for me it would be even cooler to see a similar exploration vehicle (maybe in grey, blue and trans-yellow...). Anyway, great job! :-))
