Dreadnaught-Class Heavy Cruiser
A Rendili Stardrive Dreadnaught-Class Heavy Cruiser from the Katana Fleet.
About this creation
The Dreadnaught-Class Heavy Cruiser was the premiere pre-Clone Wars warship and a popular choice for planetary defense fleets. These warships were made famous in the Heir to the Empire Trilogy and Outbound Flight Novels, and appeared in subsequent media such as Star Wars: Republic: 69-71 Dreadnaughts of Rendili, among other works. The most famous group of these starships in the Star Wars Expanded Universe belong to the Katana Fleet, which was the focal point of the second Thrawn Trilogy novel: Dark Force Rising.

This particular build emulates a Katana Fleet Dreadnaught, with the distinct blue markings of the interior. I also chose to use yellow transparent pieces for the display screens to give the Old Republic feel to the Dreadnaught, as display screens on pre-Clone Wars ships in Star Wars media are always yellow-tinted. The exterior is light and dark grey with beige to create the distinctive lines and features of the Dreadnaught without being one uniform color. Mounted on the Hull are the Turbolaser Blisters, which in this case amounts to 10 turbolasers and 16 Quad Lasers in 10 Blisters. Finally, it has 7 engines, each individually attached to the engine mount, which is attached to the body of the Dreadnaught.
