LOM MBC: Bluewater Castle
About this creation

Bluewater Castle is a military fortification in Falmor built upon a rock in the middle of a lake. Its unique location, accessible only via a single narrow stone bridge, makes it nearly impenetrable. Though the dwarves have largely regarded Falmor as insignificant, Bluewater Castle nonetheless represents a formidable obstacle if the dwarves were to attempt to take the city.

Oh and one more thing. This is probably the first time I've seen that technic piece (the one on the towers) used in a MOC. I have it from the Ferris Wheel.

Thanks for the advice... I'm afraid I don't have the pieces to fix the roof problem, I like the round 2x2 plates, but... I'm not sure what I could do at this rate to fix it. :/ What are your opinions on making a tree? And Adair made a landscape similar to the one I'm doing so I'm gonna see how it goes :) Thanks for the advice, it really means a lot.

Quoting Hildigrim Took Hey Halhi, do you have some advice for this? http://moc-pages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=428971&id=/user_images/109992/1463703048m This is the entrance, behind it will be a big light bluish gray wall then some building with interiors... http://moc-pages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=428971&id=/user_images/109992/1463703042m This is the landscape so far, on the far right I was thinking of making a rock that is in the landscape but also is a bit of a border... Should I have a tree? http://www.moc-pages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=&id=/user_images/109992/1463703053m This is kinda what it'll look like with the entrance on top... I just made a BL order for the landscape and such but I was thinking of making a dirt patch at the foot of the door... Thoughts?
Looking good, I would suggest modifying the 1x2/1x1 tile stones around the door: the light grey ones look a bit out of place in the current configuration (I'd suggest either doing all of them light grey or all of them dark grey) and the top design is a bit odd - not entirely sure how to fix that, maybe have horizontal 1x2 tiles in a line, spaced about 1 plate apart from each other (taking advantage of the fact that horizontal 1x2 tiles can slide on a stud). Also I'm not personally a fan of 2x2 round tiles in stonework, but the stonework looks good otherwise. For the roof, if possible, I'd suggest trying to eliminate the 2x2 tiles and using more long 1x_ tiles (all 1x2s would probably be ideal, but that takes too many parts), staggered to make it look more like wooden boards. Landscape looks quite good so far, not sure how dark brown would look with that color scheme - maybe you could try brown instead? Gilbert/Gareth did a landscape with that color scheme a while back and it looked really good.

Thought I already commented on this, but very nice. The dark blue turned out great, as did the towers.

Quoting City Creator ~ Wait... If THIS got a 4, then my MBC doesn't stand a chance of a 3.
Keep in mind that there's a huge jump between 4 and 5 - 4 encompasses a pretty wide range of quality, whereas 5 and 6 were designed to be very rare

Quoting Promar Quadratus Yet another fantastic piece of micro Lego work. Excellent job Hahli, I really enjoy seeing the unique use of pieces (in this case, use of pieces that I didn't know existed ;) ). Perfect coloration between the light and dark gray and the dark blue roof tiles. I'll agree with Big D, a bit more water would have been a good choice to firmly "ground" this creation. But that being a minor detail, a huge "well done!" to you, thanks for the inspiration! God bless, ~Promar~
Thanks and yeah, I definitely would have liked more water (and probably in trans dark blue rather than blue) but it had to be 8x8 for the contest and I don't have any trans dark blue...

Quoting Mariner 1000 Mind if I use this beauty in my story at some point? One storyline is going to be based around the Falmor area.
Sure, sounds good.

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus Those tiny bars probaby fit somewhere. Nice castle anyways, would look better in the middle of a larger plain body of water.
Perhaps. I just tried a few different sizes of holes, though (Zamor sphere, plume, and minifigure hand) and it was too large for the first two and too small for the third. Edit: just tested it some more; it fits into the little hole in the peg where a minifigure arm attaches to the torso.

This looks really cool, I love the color of the roofing. It works well with the color pallet. It looks as if it was weathered from Northern European coastal weather. The design of the structure is also great. Nice use of all those smaller pieces for those little details.

Quoting Mr. Cab What pieces did you use for the two small towers in front? Looks great as always.
Thanks! They're CV Joints: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32494 No friction on the axle-hole, unfortunately; they might be one of the only Lego pieces with no ways to connect it with friction (since the other end is a freely-moveable hinge)...

Quoting Hildigrim Took Wow. I actually really like this build Halhi! This is probably my all time favorite micro castle well done!
Thanks! I've been really enjoying microscale lately, I'll probably do 1-2 more micro entries for the Summer Joust over the next couple of months :)
