Danish Diesel-electric.
About this creation
I made this MOC more than 6 months ago, but wasnt really satisfied with it, so didnt want to publish it at that moment. After some time I decided that it looked kind of alright and "close enough", so I hereby publish it, before taking it apart.
It was supposed to be a high-precision model, but in the end it is too short of about 8 studs for its scale, and has some other problems...

Its a danish diesel-electric train from the year 1938. It was probably the first train I travelled in (much later of course...) myself.
It is particularly interesting for its asymetric wheels arrangement. (my photos doesnt show this very well, unfortunatly...)

MOC is 9-wide, and it is a static un-motorized model. It uses the big Emerald/ToyStory wheels.

A schematic drawing of the prototype;

A photo of the real thing;

A last farewell-photo;

Ciao!

I think it looks great. But I fully understand your reservations. To me the detailing is spot on.

I yhink you are too hard on yourself and agree with Henrik Jensen and David Roberts : your Lego version looks better than the original one. It's an excellent work : all the details are great as well as the way you did the yellow lines.

I think that your Lego version looks rather more elegant than the original in the photo! As somebody who likes the challenge of building stripes and patterns into my models, I like the yellow coach lines that you have skilfully built in. Nice work!

What a shame to take this beautiful engine car apart! Despite this rather large (8 studs length) error, it has great resemblance to the real one shown on the photo. Only when comparing to the schematic drawing it becomes clear that it is too short. The detailing on chassis and car is absolutely outstanding!

Despite your concerns this is beautiful and a really awesome take on the source material. Love that the yellow striping is so crisp.

I think, it's not so bad as you thought and I'm happy, that you uploaded it. I especially like the yellow stripes on the sides and the front is nice, too! :)
