MELO Round 2 - Orthanc Bracket: Didier B vs. Anthony Ochoa
Here is my entry to the second round of the MELO 2016 contest.
About this creation
Orthanc Bracket
Category : Council of Elrond
Here is the link to the group : MELO 2016
And the link to my oponent home page : Anthony Ochoa

When I saw the council of Elrond scene I found that the design of the chairs was really good. So for this 2nd round I decided to make a reproduction of that design as well as I could.
This moc is also a tribute to the art director of the movie.

Hi Didier! So sorry I have been inactive and missed this. There has been a lot of stuff happening on this end. Beautiful chair built very nicely. I also like the floor, because it really adds to the presentation. Hope to see you round more, ~Lo

Quoting Reese Hawthorne You had quite a unique take on the category! The chair is fairly well built, but I think it could have really used a brick-built figure to fully flesh it out. Your opponent, on the other hand, did the typical Council scene; however, I feel he put his own spin on it and used some new techniques. In the end, my vote goes to him, as his build was more complete-looking and was instantly recognizable.
Thank you for your feedback and for judging Reese

Quoting Michael Kringe Nice job! The chair looks excellent! However, it looks too empty and plain without anything else in it, a brick-built figure would have been a great addition to this MOC. In the end your opponent got my vote.
Thank you for judging Michael !

Quoting Beardless Dwarf (Evan) Good job Anthony and Didier! Both your entries are nice. Anthony, your entry is great, I love the architecture and the floor textures. Including so many minifigures is great as well. My biggest complaint is that the scene looks very dark with the grey floors, maybe if they had been white it would have been better. Still a very accurate representation of the scene! Didier, interesting take on the category! The SNOT work on the chair is great. It seems a bit lacking though. A brick figure to go in the chair would have been a great bonus. In the end, Anthony gets my vote because his build seemed more complete and used more interesting techniques. Good luck with the other judges!
Thank you for this feedback and thank you for judging for the MELO 2016.

Beautiful done, Didier! Maybe the frontal legs could be a little more sturdier, so that Elrond doesn't need to slim... ;)
