Austrian (ÖBB) class 1189.2 electric locomotive
About this creation
Austrian electric locomotive class 1189.2, whose famous swiss counterpart is probably the worlds most recognized locomotive the "Crocodile".

Building the austrian versión of it, has the further advantage, that the shiny red Lego color is almost authentical! ;-)
The model is a fairly precise build. Compare the pictures;

CREDIT: My creation is based/inspired by the work done by Goethestein/Frankie1970! -at least for some of the outside detailing, although my motorization is totally different.

Model is 7-wide. Uses PF and 2 Lego train motor-units.

It works well with Lego standard curves and switches.

"Dynamic effect photo";

A photo of the real thing;

I´ve uploaded a video (terrible quality, sorry!), as a kind of "proof of conecpt" that the loco actually Works;

***

To go with this fine locomotive, I´ve build a rake of 5 freight cars.
These are rather generic creations, more or less 7-wide.

Some of the waggons have a longer wheelbase, for wich a modified chassis was created (to ease running in curves);

Ciao!

Stunning work on both train and wagons. The accuracy is impressive. Eager to see the whole thing on your big dio.

Love the idea and execution. I recognize the set and detail from my dad's Märklin train hobby. Great result. Never thought to have this possible with Lego

Neat pantographs and I had a real surprise when I saw the hinged photo. I love the red tanker truck. It's so smooth and round: great design.

Beautifully done. I like the wagons as well, and the simple but effective way their bogies have a stable steering system.

That's so sweet my friend! It's really impressive how you're able to squeeze all theese details and functions in such a relatively small scale model(s). A+ from me :-)

Amazing piece of work Henrik. All the details are there. Again proof that even these kind of difficult models can be build by lego, thanks for sharing!
