Hi my friends! I proudly present you my brandnew FDNY firetruck! It's a 2016 KME Severe Service LFD 2000/500 and replaces the old Seagrave Engine 5. As always I tried my best to add as much detail as possible and I'm very proud on how it turned out. I hope you like this new truck my friend. You comments and ratings are really much appreciated. Enjoy this beauty ;) Greets, Sven

Hello Peter, it's great to hear from a FF of the real Eng5 and thank you very very much for your interest. Normally I don't sell my rigs because it's unique customwork and really expensive. I would say leave your email if possible. So we could talk about your question in more detail. What do you think? All the best from me to you in NYC :o)

Hey Jeremy. thank you very much for your big compliment :) I really appreciate it. Yes, Chicago rigs will come some time. First was Battalion 1. But my main focus is on FDNY units. The parts I used for the intake: Lego hose rigid 3mm which is cut and bent by myself. The black part is a 1x1 round with hole. You can find them on Bricklink.com. Hope this will help you. :) Greets, Sven

Sven! Love the FDNY rigs you put out! Great detail. You should look at building see Chicago apparatus, maybe the squad companies? Would love to be able to see you build those up. Also, what did you use to for the intake on the officers side on the bumper? I have seen others use something similar, but I can't tell what you used and love the realistic look. Any help will be great!

Hey Tom, thank you very much for your nice comment. Sure, no problem ;) The pipe is made of a hose rigid 3mm https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=75c10#T=S&C=5&O={%22color%22:%225%22} To get the curves I bent it but had to use some heat of a lighter. This must be done very carefully. Open fire and plastic don't go very well together ;) Don't know all names of the other parts I used for the whole deck gun. So if you need a better picture leave your E-mail and I'll try to send you a picture of all parts. Hope this will help you a bit ;)

Sven my good friend I just wanted you to know that I was so impressed with this KME build that I actually replaced Station 51 KMG365 with the pic of the 2 E5's at the station on my desktop. I never thought that would ever happen but this build is that good and I want to see it every day. Hope you and Julia had a great weekend, stay safe at work. Yes indeed. But was not my own idea using the window pieces. Many others did that before I did. ;) Thank you very much again my friend, glad you like it. Btw, the tight streets were another reason for keeping my trucks in six wide ;) + you don't need so many special parts.

  April 2, 2016
Very clever use of the window piece for fixing the pile of grill tiles. The new grill looks absolutely fantastic! Keeping your trucks only 6 wide may be a wise thing to do, to avoid traffic jam in the narrow streets of your Minifig NYC :-)

Henrik my friend, thank you so much for your really nice comment and compliment :) I know Andy's great stuff and the fire engine as well. Thanks for mentioning. To the wheels: That's intended because I like this style. The wheels would fit perfectly into the wheel wells if I remove the technic spacers I put on the crossaxles ;) About using six wide instead of seven wide: I was thinking about going seven or eight wide but decided against it because I think six wide is enough. About the grill tiles: You can slide one or two 2x2 window glasses through them to hold them together in position. The bottom grills must be connected to the truck. That works fine. But with the latest generation (three generations of grill tiles are existing) of grill tiles it won't work because they have reinforced corners at the inner surface. You'll see it if you take a closer look on it.

Another amazing and very beautiful Fire engine! The detailing and the sticker work is as expected in a class of its own. When I see the nice chromed wheels protruding beyound the wheel arches I wonder, have you ever considered making a 7 wide truck instead of only 6, I think it would be more correctly scaled to your minifigs? Take a look at Andy L´s brilliant London Fire Engine http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/237078 it fits a full crew of 4 firemen. Btw. did you use doublesided tape to fix the stacked grill-plates?
