MocAthalon 2016: The Crab
Team: "lummerlander", represented by Oliver Becker likes to add a creation to the very popular by old and young category Nr.6: "It Creeps And Crawls: Choose any type of creepy crawly (insect/spider/centipede/anything) and build it. The more colorful and detailed it is the better! You can build it in a backdrop if you like but this one will be all about the bug." Many great competitors here... ;)
About this creation
The link to the contest here is: http://www.moc-pages.com/group.php/25660
So, now the gent who met me in my last vaccation at the North Sea... And I like these old LEGO parts so I had to integrate these buckets in this creation! Also I love comics, especially the Barks- one's, so my style maybe is understandeable...

Ouch! What a beast...! ;)

Enjoy!

Quoting Parrington Levens Enjoyed it thoroughly, mate I'd have very near given this a five. Only the fact they said 'colourful' would hold me back, perhaps. This is rather vibrant afterall.
Haha, great to hear that from a gourmet...! ;)

Quoting Lego Jim ..... This is really cool. The shape of the crab is spot on. The other little creatures in it are cool too. Great stuff.
Hey Jim, nice you're stoppin' by and leave a like on this! I nearly allways try to bring a little humor on MOCpages 'cause it's an essential thing, I believe... ;)

Quoting David Roberts Brilliant detailing on the crab's face and neat construction to sandwich it all between two X-pods lids. I like his claws. I had one of those as a child but quickly lost the metal spring and eventually snapped the ball joint off it :(
Haha, I knew you will notice the x-pod-shells if you have a look here, David! I love these parts also much, but while my LDD- time I had no chance to build with... But I "inherited" some from my older kids and now they appear in my builds from time to time! ;) And to your sad story: I'm wondering that these 2 specimens survived my and my childrens childhood, but other bricks instead of these "had to bite the dust"...LOL ;)

Quoting Jeremy McCreary Hmmm, the upper and lower covers on the crab's body look an awful lot like X-pod covers, but I didn't think they came in red. (X-pod covers make great top rotors, BTW.)
