LOM Rank Challenge: Target
About this creation

Tactician Rank Challenge for LOM; story will be up later (I've actually begun to add in stories for my last couple of builds, so that note's actually legit now)

LOM: The Target

LOM: The Target

LOM: The Target

GOH: Impact of the Algus

This build (which I actually built in January, then delayed posting first because I waited about a month before getting LOM photos, and then because of uploader issues) was a moderately quick build, but I'm still really pleased with it: I love how the snow turned out (especially on the lower section - the top section was very rushed, but still pretty good), and the rocks turned out pretty well too. While this rockwork style may look simpler than my older style, it's actually deceptively complex - each slope is basically individually offset with various SNOT techniques in order to get a nice smooth shape with no gaps. The result is complex and very piece intensive, but I quite like how it looks.

Thanks for viewing!

Quoting Kai Bernstein Beautiful, but the lighting/shadows are a problem.
100% agreed - I love the MOC (favorite of the year other than maybe Bluewater Castle) but those photos are pretty bad.

Quoting Mr. Cab
Quoting Halhi 141 To break up the monotonous white/grey
But shouldn't they technically be covered partly by snow, rather than growing right out of the snow as if it were dirt? Is what I meant. Anyways, good moc, the stonework is excellent.
How do you know that the plants' base are on the snow? Even if the pieces' base might be there, the actual plant could extend farther down.

Quoting Reynolds . Nice landscaping and rockwork ! Though who's the person in the blue shirt ?
It's Edmund, a character I introduced in Last Blossom of Hope. He hasn't been named yet in my story, but he'll be named once I get the story up for Cliffside Village.

@Cab. There's probably an artistic excuse for that. :P Anyway, very nice snowscape here. Rocks are cool, too. Well done.

You have snow and rocks down pat! Such great texture. I'll have to save this link for inspiration on my next build including one or both of them!

Yeah, really nice looking snow. Not much going on, but it is good enough. Maybe just DBG and white is not enough colours, some brown or dark tan on top or bottom of the cliff might have improved it.
