Congratulations, you win my vote! It wasn't an easy decision, though: there was even a time when I convinced myself to vote for W. Navarre instead, until I thought over it again the next day. Each of you had strengths and weaknesses in different areas, and it was hard to decide which of these was the most important. Detailed below are my thoughts on your build; for my critique of Navarre's, please see his entry on MOCpages. To start with, I assessed your entries on three areas: the quality of your entries' components (masonry, landscaping, etc.), the originality of the components (new or unusual techniques, parts usage, etc.), and the appeal of the overall composition (colors, layout, viewability). In component quality, Navarre won by a narrow margin. I hope you forgive me, but neither of you had very impressive masonry, and that made up large parts of both of your builds. The mess of stalks for landscaping and the strange stacks of masonry bricks in the background didn't earn many points, either. Moving on to the next area, you won some major points for your transparent sunset and the clouds that accompanied it. You also won some points for the ghost-bottom plume of smoke and the road. Beyond that, the windows were okay and the handcuff decorations on the door were interesting, but they were worth the least amount of points in this category. In the end, though, you again fell slightly short of Navarre in terms of originality. Between his all-direction all-Lego scene and the many interesting techniques he fit here and there throughout his build, he took the lead here. Nonetheless, your entry's composition overcame shortcomings elsewhere to secure my vote. I'm not convinced that the color scheme is entirely coherent, with the bright greens and the bright reds, but the splash of red from the sunset really gives your entry a vitality that Navarre's lacks. Next, the layout is perfect for a single view. Even without the sunset, the walls are arranged to minimize the empty background, or negative space, that would show up in picture-taking. To round off the effect, the arrangement of the space perfectly directs focus to the central minifigure with his fleshie face shining brightly against the dark wood of the door and uniforms of the soldiers. Even though Navarre won in the other two categories, you excelled so completely here that it more than makes up for the difference. Well, that's my vote. I hope my comment was in some way helpful, and wish you luck with the other judges.

Congrats, after the classy agony of decision-making, you narrowly won my vote :) If you'd like a break-down of each builds' pros and cons, see W Navarre's build, sry that I'm out of time to personalize your critique:( Good luck! ;)

You have my vote. There are some things I'm not too fond of here, but overall your textures and that neat sunset made it stand out for me.

Sadly I think I am going to have to vote for your opponent on this one, a close call though.

I LoVD this! I think you have captured the fight scene, unlike, in my opinion, W's who has just put some figs fighting each other, yours feels Li,e a battle, even, I'd say, if you removed the figs, it would still be a fight scene. AMAZING! If I were a judge, you'd have my vote- twice. :D~ jd the Lego owl

Quoting Armon Russ That sunset is beautiful! ;P Really fits the mood of the build, and you captured the final battle scene perfectly. Not sure about those stacked masonry bricks against the background or the overall texture of the wall, but the sloped section looks nicely shaped. Well done, Micah!
The stacked masonry bricks were supposed to be a forced perspective of the city. But, yeah the ones on the back do look a bit silly. I think the wall could have been done better though.
