Celje Hall was built in 1906. It is a landmark of Celje city and I tried to reproduce it in bricks for its 110 anveirsary.
About this creation
It was quite a task to follow all details.
Trickiest was to made large conical tower roof. Luckily my friend helped me and create a program that recalculates 3D shapes into bricks and draw a plan for assembly! Roof was done in 30 minutes!
Next achivement is pavement. It is not my idea to use those parts, but it is SO HEAVY to press 1000+ pieces into plates below. Try bigger then 4x4 array on your own %!?%#$.
Appologise for bad photos, I need to find me a proper space to snap so big creation and better camera. If you'd like to see any closeups please let me know and I will add.
Oh wow, this is beautiful! Very accurate compared to the reference photo, and beatifully detailed as well. It doesn't matter that the colors are a bit different, it would have been almost impossible to find enough bricks in exact colors to build this. Brilliant work, sir :-)
I know colors do not match 100%. First I do not have enouth bricks in correct colors and secondly reference photo is old, building is now slowly deteriorating. Roofs are allmost black, fasade is very dirty tan/grey/dark red. And building looked a bit different back in 1906. Tower roof was brick red not cooper, tower walls was covered with reliefs and so on. Building was built by Germans as their 'cultural home'. Across the street there is 'Slovenian home' much less impressive building. After WWII komunists transformed it enough to loose some 'glow'. I belive we are lucky it still stands as an architectural pearl from the past.
