About this creation
Please feel free to look over the images and skip the verbiage.

Those famliar with my MOCpages will be much relieved to know that all verbiage other than top names will end in exactly 2 sentences:

1. All the tops work.

2. The images appear in no particular order, as it recently occurred to me that cutting back on decision-making might make more time for beer.

Large Znap top

Big and Little Green

Octoplasm

Early Tomcat

Reflector top

Stack of dishes

Ripsaw

Blue rose

Iris and Squishy

Andromeda

Babylon

Tank Top Too

Diffractor

Warning! Always wear eye protection when working or playing with high-speed LEGOŽ rotating machinery and keep valuables and bystanders (including pets) a safe distance away -- especially when testing new designs.

Quoting David Roberts Hey! There's a spinning creation as MOC of the Day and it's not one of yours! I'm very confused: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/297750
Pretty nice one, too! The 3 spinning top contests Yuri held (in 2010-2012, I think) produced some fine tops. Top-related posts plummeted after that, so I'm just a big fish in a very small pond now.

Thanks, Oliver! Definitely not bored in retirement.

Quoting Ed Mitton Hi, Jeremy, I visited the DENLUG room at the RMTS last week, but unfortunately you weren't present at the time. I did get to see and play with what I believe were your LEGO tops. Cool stuff. Anyway, sorry I missed you. Maybe next time!
Rats, Ed, sorry I missed you, too! That was probably on Sat, when I had to stay home to deal with the aftermath of a little home plumbing adventure the night before. Yep, those were my tops.

Thanks, David! Really like the red rover near the bottom at that link.

Quoting Didier B My favorite is the little red one Jeremy.
Thanks, Didier! I like that one, too. When it spins, the red smears out into a red disk with a smooth gradient from dark red at the outside to bright red on the inside. Pretty cool.

Quoting Jeremy Zachary, please drop me a line at mocpages@cliffshade.com. Perhaps if you spoon-fed me some info about the time commitment and the deliverables I'd be signing up for on this particular team, I could come to a decision earlier. Are the 2016 rules posted somewhere?
the rules are posted in the Mocathon group. Here http://www.moc-pages.com/group.php/25660 Hope to see you! Sorry I'm not supposed to use my email yet, I'd love to, but I can't. Thanks!
Thanks for the info, Zachary -- very helpful. Unfortunately, I'll be on vacation and away from my brick for most of the building window, so it's just not going to work this year. I really appreciate your interest in having me on your team, though.

Quoting Zachary Baker @Jeremy: cool! Not to pressure you in any way, but have you made a decision? Again, I'm really sorry it's just I need to know if I should find someone else...
Really flattered by the offer, Zachary, but realistically, if time is short, you should find someone else. I'm tied up with preparations for an upcoming show right now, and then I'm heading out of town for several days on family business. Won't have time to take a hard look at the commitment and timing involved for at least a week, so maybe next year.

Quoting Nick Barrett We need more words! I bet the Andromeda top can induce a trance in the unwary....
Don't worry, Nick! My next post will more than make up for the lack of words here. Yes, I use the Andromeda top to hypnotize my wife: "Hey, honey, watch this! ... You are getting very sleepy ... When your husband tells you how much he just spent on LEGO, you will encourage him spend more." Works like a charm!

Quoting Sven Jagdmann I bet it's much fun building and playing with them. You did a really nice job Jeremy. Like them all.
Many thanks, Sven! You're absolutely right about the fun part. In fact, my tops see more play time than most of my MOCs. For one thing, they're great for giving idle hands something to do -- e.g., when on hold on the telephone, or during TV ads. I keep several on the kitchen counter and my desk and swap them out once or twice a week for variety.

Quoting Henrik Jensen Where are all the Scientific explanations? :-) No, it`s actually great to let art speak for itself, and just enjoy your great variety of spinning tops with all the different colors and shapes. Take care of your fingers with that circular saw top :-) Great Work!
Many thanks, Henrik! Agree, when it's just about the visuals, the less said the better. Recently realized that the visuals I work so hard to achieve in my tops were getting lost in all the engineering verbiage. Since I can't help myself with the latter, best to present the visuals separately now and then, so that the tops can be appreciated both ways.

Quoting Firas Abu-Jaber Beautiful shapes! Looks like a big fun to build! All these shapes and colors are absolutely stunning, keep it up my friend :-)
Thanks, Firas! You should give it a try. With your sense of style, I =know= you'd come up with some good ones! I'm certainly no artist, but I think of my tops more and more as kinetic art with play value rather than as simple toys, and that makes it all the more fun.

Quoting The Royal Brick This is certainly your least wordy post (though I do enjoy your explanations as well)! These are all beautiful tops. I love that the beauty of some of them is only revealed when they're in motion - like the reflector tops.
Thanks, TRB! Tops often become completely different visual objects in motion. Building toward that explicitly is a part of the fun!
