This Ford RS200 is the reason I haven't been an active builder for a whole year, this project just proved way too big for me hehe. I just couldn't find the creative energy to finish this besides work and being a little obsessed with gaming :) And so it sat on the shelf, half finished, with only the front bodywork completed, for almost a year. I decided to finish it once and for all now because 1) I finally have a vacation 2) Once I finish it and take it apart I can finally build more smaller and simpler cars :D
It's by far the biggest car I've built, it is 24 wide (26 if you count the wheelarches) with functioning suspension, working R4 piston engine, working steering from cabin, everything opens on the body the way it should. No idea about the part count. No LDD planning etc, just trial and error from start to finish.
The spare wheel fits nicely with room to spare.
The engine is driven by the rear wheels only by a chain. I'm not very good at making working technic stuff up on my own, so I wasn't able to connect the front wheels to the engine, while keeping the suspension and steering intact.
