Yeah, Lego also makes for cool 3D architectural models for school...
About this creation
Here's another school project that I made out of Lego for a class that I'm taking this term.
The particular class that I'm taking is a Commercial Studio in which I'm designing a mixed-use (commercial on ground floor with apartments/condos on the upper floors) commercial building for a site near the school. This is my first real commercial project and I've been working to assure minimal environmental and community impact in its proposed structural development. This is officially the largest building that I've ever designed, coming in at over 18,000 square feet and 41'-11" tall. Quite the accomplishment :)
It has rooftop access and green roofs on each of the overhanging sections and as much landscaping as possible on the remainder of the site.
I made the model at 1/16" = 1'-0" scale or 1:192. Frankly, I was at the end of my white and transparent pieces and wasn't able to get as smooth an angle as I wanted. However, for 5 hours of rushed work, I did do pretty good :)
Goes to show that Lego is indeed a practical art...
