Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing
I haven't built in a while, but plenty of models are to come soon, stay tuned :D Special credit to Sam the First/Sir.Manperson for the render!
About this creation
Well, here it is, my first model of 2016: my 300SL! I've been working on it on-off for about five months, but I decided to actually get it fully done in order to enter it into a contest on Flickr. Hope you like it!!

I've got other models in the works: A LaFerrari that's done except roof and interior, a Mazda 787B that's a pain in the you-know-what but getting there, and a couple of other tidbits...:D

Un-rendered. And inferior.

Yes, there is a rear. :P

Mmmm...BUMPER.

The front is basically a compilation of the best parts I could find online, along with LDD limitations...

I'm not positive about the proportions, to be frank.

Barely visible with screenshots...-_-

I opted for a grey wheel because, honestly, red looks weird.

So...yeah, that's that. Hope you liked it, don't for get to comment any suggestions!! :D

Quoting Nick Barrett It's surprising what a difference a good render makes; this is good - proportions look fine to me - maybe the roof could be half a plate lower if you're being really picky.
Thanks a lot! Yes, renders make all the difference :D Yeah, it was the roof I was worried about a bit, but then the doors would've been h*ll and dang it I already calculated angles so...oh well...

Quoting Yann (XY EZ) Superb creation ! The design is spot on. Did you found a way to render the pics?
Thanks! Long story short no, but here's the long story: It was immediately clear that POVRay wasn't gonna work, and I wasn't about to spend $80 on Parallels. I know there are free Windows emulators, but I found out the hard way that they're free for a reason. I was pretty interested in BlueRender, but I tried twice to no avail. (I later found out from a tech-genius friend of mine that the download instructions for Apple were pretty sketchy anyway...) I also tried Blender, but the results were pretty not-good (lots lost in translation from LDD to Blender). Since I have AutoCAD, I briefly looked into importing the model there, but it didn't work. *gasp* There! So no renders. Now I just outsource it, but I haven't given up...

Quoting Gabor Horvath Wow! Pretty good model! I especially like the doors!
Thanks a lot! I realized after I finished the build that I'd've saved myself some trouble by just using skeleton arms instead of those weird roof-door connectors :P

Quoting Firas Abu-Jaber Looks really cool my friend! Great choice for the headlights as they're a slight bigger than the 1x1 rounds and a bit smaller than 2x2s... Details are absolutely great and the opening doors are well played. I like it. A+
Thanks a lot Firas! The headlights actually weren't my idea, but too good not to use :D
