A big giant boxy thing with a face! I should've spent more time on the face...
About this creation
Text under picture

Long before the Collective was, um, collected, various mage lords warred with each other for control of kingdoms, continents, and even entire planets. Massive "magically-fueled" siege weapon called Momentum Gluttons were used to break down defensive structures.

Some of these magnificent juggernauts are still in existence today. While their use has been banned within the systems of the Collective, there are no such restrictions in place concerning their use when conducting a forced conversion on a new civilization.

Historically, many Momentum Gluttons had wedge-shaped battering rams at their prow. This specimen, operated by the zealous clerics known as the "Screamers of Deja," is designed to intimidate enemies into surrendering, although it still is quite effective as a weapon.

Here we see two sacred drones manning the battlements. Dull silver "iron spellstone" rods run throughout the construct, conducting magical energy and helping to reinforce and shield the stone structure.

The massive rollers upon which the construct rolls easily crush anything in the Glutton's path. The shrieking faces feature recessed "black spellstone" panels. Specialized weapons can be mounted here; mages can cast spells through the substance as well.

The stern of the Glutton features a heavily reinforced structure. Even so, it's still the most boring part of the construct.

Here we see a Screamer Battle Mage (or Battle Cleric), wearing the humble black cassock and head wrap typical of their order (or at least this sect of the order).

Here is...uh...some other guy. He's a Mage too!

Sacred drones such as this specimen are constructed from the mummified remains of exceptional Screamer priests and clerics. They retain some glimmer of sentience and magical ability meaning they can use the Collective's trademark enhanced weapons.

This big ol' mouth does more than intimidate...three or more Screamers of Deja can focus their powerful shrieks through the Glutton's mouth which amplifies the power and range of the attack. They put some red mana in the mouth just because they think it looks cool.

The battle platform atop the Momentum Glutton provides a scenic vantage point from which to gauge the battle. In this particular construct, airborne threats are handled directly by the powers of the mages and clerics.

The interior deck of the Glutton is made of wood reinforced with iron spellstone. A central weapons rack ensures that the drones mages always have the correct tool for any combat situation. The deck opens onto the four broadside battlements: two on each side

The pilot is a mage or cleric who sits atop a specially designed chair. They enter into a deep trance from which they can control the speed and direction of the Momentum Glutton. Two statues of the "Hallowed Harvester" aspect of Deja (the Collective's god) flank the spelljammer. If anything threatens the pilot, the statues animate to keep the pilot safe.

The lowest level of the Glutton contains the magical engine, and the very specialized mages that power it.

The engine utilized "yellow mana" to amplify the energies of the mages. These special mages, know as "Oxen," have dangerously powerful levels of magical ability, but lack the finesse to become true battle mages. They wear specialized suits that act both as sensory deprivation chambers and as shielding from the radiation that the energized yellow mana produces.

For no real reason, I put some gears in with the rollers.

The gears actually turn when the rollers move, but serve no function other than to look cool. You can barely see them, but I still like them!

Here is the Momentum Glutton...uh...playset with all of its various decks and whatnot removed. This beastie will appear in an upcoming story for the Insurgency.

Thanks Nick! It's definitely a castle/siege weapon, although a giant evil house head is perhaps something I should tackle some day...

Superbly made, superbly named! What a thing, I think the face looks fine - plenty scary enough. Quite simply; coolest castle set ever! Or is it a giant evil house head ?

Quoting MetallicMakarov . Truly amazing! In the "Magic room", where did you get those Mini-figure helmets? I HAVE to have those :)
Thanks! The bluish chrome suits came from the original Aquazone theme near the end. They were from the Hydronaut faction; LEGO set6110-1 is an example of what the original minifig looks like. I think the figures are pretty reasonably priced on Bricklink.
