About this creation
This is my entry for round 2 of The Tourney 16
Bracket 1
Opponent: Hacim Bricks
Category: Mountain Ambush:
Mountains are great places for ambushes. You can cause landslides and avalanches, trap the enemy in a ravine with no way out or shoot at them with arrows from angles at which it is impossible to shoot back. But not all mountains are safe. Avalanches and rockslides can catch you just as easily as the enemy. Snow makes the slopes slippery, the rocks beneath your feet are not always as safe as they seem, and once you loose your footing, you fall a long, long way. Show us a Mountain Ambush that goes horribly wrong.

Dwalfin returns to the dwarf camp shaking off the cold. He reports to Galfore Grimbrow "Sir, fortifications at the supply depot are nearing completion." Grimbrow looking up from his dinner growls "Our objective is not the fort! it is that blasted Captain of the guard! He must be dealt with if we are to be succesful in this tourney."

Galfore plans to ambush the Captain while conducting his patrols through the 'Creeking pass' a mountain pass named for the sounds of cracking ice and shifting stone. "We will hide high in the pass and once the captain and his guard march through we will rain down arrows until none remain alive!" The dwarves cheer and clank their mugs. During the night the dwarves skulk onto their rocky pearches in anticipation of Captain Luilfrs demise.

Unfortunately for Grimbrow and his men Luilfr was alerted to the spy gathering intel at the wall by a shapeshifting scout named Skins. The Captain has been hot on Dwalfins heels since he left the fort. Luilfrs plan is two fold one to burry the dwarves before they get the opportunity loose their arrows and two secure the pass from future intrusions from the dwarf horde.

Halting the patrol at the opening to the pass he orders the Wargs to howl. Their thunderous tone reverberating throughout the pass. As the ice begins to crack it slides down the cliff walls crashing into rocks and ice sending the mountain down ontop of the doomed dwarf ambush. They scatter but their survival is unlikely.
Satisfied with the results of round 2 Capt Luilfr leads the party back to the depot in hopes that he and his men will be called upon to further defend the realm in round 3.

While I agree with Hahli that this is a bit messy, (in answer to your question I'd say that it's the composition of the entire scene that seems to scatter it, not necessarily the techniques. An ideal build would have been a fusion of your interesting snow that gives a sense of motion and more lively detail, and Micah's smaller and less oddly proportioned scene) I'm actually going to give you my vote. Micah's is simply too bland, even with the polar bears.

Quoting Halhi 141 My vote goes to your opponent. This was an impressive build, but it feels a bit too messy for my liking; going for a smaller, cleaner build might have been a better approach. Good luck with the rest of your judges!
I get it you made your choice. Just a question wasnt that the point? Its a scene in mid avalanche shouldnt it look somewhat chaotic?

I am going to go with your opponent, his rockwork was just too good.
