Bolter class-destroyer

After years of watching their once mighty navy rust into oblivion the Atlantic Navy’s shipyards have roared to life once more. These shipyards are where the navy’s newest class of ships are being born: the Bolter class destroyers.
About this creation
Being the newest warships yet built, there were a lot of expectations placed on the new destroyers. These new destroyers had to be fast, rugged, cheap, durable, b̶u̶i̶l̶t̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶b̶r̶e̶w̶e̶r̶y̶, and powerful. The designers were able to meet most of the set requirements. The only drawbacks were the fact that the ship is quite big for a destroyer, oh yeah, and they couldn’t fit the brewery in…….such a shame.
Specifications:

Length: 392 feet

Beam: 32 feet

Draft: 15 feet

Displacement: 2,400 tons

Propulsion:
2x steam turbines
2x propeller shafts

Speed: 38 knots

Range: 8,000 km at 18 knots

Armament:
5x 5 inch guns
10x 23 inch torpedo tubes
2x quadruple 40mm cannons
6x 20mm AA guns
2x anti-submarine b̶e̶e̶r̶ ̶k̶e̶g̶s̶ hedgehog launchers (optional).

Armor:
belt armor (40 mm)
deck armor (25 mm)
turret armor (35 mm)
conning tower armor (40 mm)

Crew complement: 390 total

The first ship, A.N.S. Bolter (D-145), was laid down in November of 1946 and entered service in May of the following year.

The two quintuple torpedo launchers are mounted in-between the two f̶e̶r̶m̶e̶n̶t̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶v̶a̶t̶s̶ smokestacks.

Bolter class destroyers are very top-heavy thanks to their large cylindrical masts. This makes the destroyers very unstable during heavy seas.

Rear view angle is best angle. The ship shown here is the A.N.S. Budweiser (D-158)

Thanks for viewing and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Quoting Jeremy McCreary I think I see a place for the brewery in the forecastle. To keep the beer from getting shaken up too badly in storms, they could store it in the active roll tanks at midships.
I'll keep that in mind for the next destroyer class. ;)

Quoting killswitch95 [SNRK] nice but... make tanks! and be sure the next ship has that brewery... its a must have
Thanks, Killswitch! Unfortunately, my latest tank design is proving to be a pain. I'm hoping that I can get it done in early January.
