Carrier battle group
Russian aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" with escort ships. Scale 1: 350, LDD. Please feel free to leave comments and/or smiley faces :)
About this creation

For aircraft carrier group, I used the newly built model aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" and the latest version of my destroyers project 956, 1155 and 11551 built on the scale of 1: 350. Photos in high definition in VK

The core group - CV "Admiral Kuznetsov", the first and only Russian aircraft carrier. Carries heavy deck fighter Su-33, trainning attack aircraft Su-25UTG, as well as various modifications of helicopters Ka-27 - anti-submarine, rescue and AWACS.

Model aircraft carriers built using a set of documents from the Sluban M38-B0388. Since Sluban uses a large number of original parts, practically the whole ship had to be rebuilt. At the same time, I made a number of improvements to the weapons and design.

The Su-33 is preparing for takeoff. In the background, in front of the superstructure - fire truck. On the front - mount CIWS "Kortik" and 6x8 VLS SAM "Kinzhal".The aircraft carrier is "impenetrable" system of self-defense - 8 12-barrel CIWS "Kortik", 6 6-barrel gun mounts AK-630, 192 VLS SAM "Kinzhal", as well as an active anti-torpedo system "Udav" with 2 launchers.

The Su-33 is preparing to rise from the hangar to the flight deck.

Carrier-based aircraft. In the front row - the MiG-29K, Su-33 and Su-33 with folded wings. In the second - the Ka-27.

Destroyer "Admiral Chabanenko" - "Udaloy II" class large anti-submarine ship. This ship is a deep modernization of the large anti-submarine ships "Udaloy". Built in one piece for the Northern Fleet.

ASW-destroyer "Admiral Levchenko" - "Udaloy" class large anti-submarine ship. Equipped with powerful sonar system, long-range anti-submarine missile-torpedoes and carries a 2 helicopter. The main Russian naval escort ship with very good anti-submarine capabilities and a strong self-defense weapons.

The destroyer "Admiral Ushakov" - "Sovremenny" class destroyer. Unsurpassed fighter for naval battles. Armed with a highly efficient anti-aircraft and anti-ship systems, and has a very strong artillery weapons.

Carrier battle groups in marching order.

MOTD - 18.08.2016, thank you all for your support!

Quoting Builder Allan Hmm how i missed commenting on this i don't know. Excellent details for a micro-scale build. Those planes are just excellent! Great work on the rest of the ships in the group too, not to mention the carrier itself :-) Thanks for adding this to the War Machines group by the way! For a group that caters to all things military, there are too few navy-builds in it :-D
Tyank you, Allan! Will add boats ))

Quoting Red October In response to your comment on the Kuznetsov: Interesting. I didn't know that. I have not read anything indicating that this is the case, but if you have a source that discusses this, I would love to read it. I am very interested in learning more about this.
I looked more and realized that a little mistake)) In March 1996, during the campaign, "Kuznetsov" launched one missile, "Granit" during target practice (http://files.balancer.ru/forums/attaches/a2/9e/a29eb1e04dca9dddacb34e6fb6b2f496.jpg). There are no other data. "Granit" - a very heavy missile, with powerful solid rocket booster required for acceleration to supersonic speeds when running the main engine - propulsive jet engine. At the start of the rocket can be damaged aircraft on deck. Also, the range of rocket fire (about 500 km) is too small for such weapons as a carrier. If you read in Russian - there are many forums (http://www.wrk.ru/forums/viewforum.php?id=25). In English - I do not know ((

Quoting Red October Very nice carrier! However, I think that according to Soviet Naval doctrine and designations this isn't really a carrier battle group, considering that Kuznetsov is technically a large aircraft carrying missile cruiser (remember it carries 12 of the missiles used by the Kirov and Oscar class) intended to provide some level of aerial defense to missile cruisers (like Kirov) and other major warships. Anyway, great build! I really like the way you captured the hull of the Kuznetsov and the bridge is very accurate.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, in the Russian Navy, he is classified as a "heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser". But missiles "Granit" are not currently loaded in the launchers and ship the de facto exclusively used as a training aircraft carrier.

Quoting Sam Sanister A curved takeoff ramp on an aircraft carrier, huh. Where do you find these ships?
Thanks, Sam! The ramp is not the best solution for the classic carrier. But at the time of construction "Admiral Kuznetsov", produce powerful steam catapults that can run aircraft weighing more than 30 tons, were able only in the United States. However, since SU-33, in contrast to the F-14 or F-18 has a thrust-superior (greater than 1), then take off from the ramp it does not pose a problem.

Quoting Jeremy McCreary I like everything about this, Seaman -- carrier, planes, write-up. Odd that Russia would only have 1 carrier, isn't it?
Thanks, Jeremy! Strategy for the use of the Soviet Navy for a long time did not provide for the use of aircraft carriers, regarding them as weapons of aggression. The main striking force of the fleet were nuclear submarines and heavy bombers with cruise missiles. The Russian navy is still the Soviet legacy, his own post-Soviet history is just beginning :)

Quoting Locutus 666 Nicely done, even when the carrier design is not 100% yours. The Skyjump turns out very well. Not easy this stuff!
Thanks, Locutus! With the ramp had a lot of problems)) In the first case I tried to spread it out flat panels, gradually increasing the angle of inclination. It almost happened ...))) Fortunately, I still found the pertinent details in the database LDD. By the way, my favorite in this composition is not an aircraft carrier ;)

Thanks, Matt! Yes, you're absolutely right. The first version of the deck was without color, dark gray and with four fighters. I managed to find a simple solution for the manufacture of aircraft with folded wings and cause markings on the deck. This made the model is much more realistic.
