1959 Cadillac Hearse
This is a 1959 Cadillac Hearse I built from Brent Waller's fabulous Ghostbusters Ecto-1 lego set 21108.
About this creation

When this set was released in 2014 I wanted to modify it into a hearse. This has been sitting on my work bench waiting for an interior. Since I've not had much time these past few months and Halloween fast approaching I decided to dust her off and finish it. hope you enjoy it and Happy Halloween.

Quoting Nick Barrett Hi Clayton. It's great to see your bright, positive self around the 'pages. Hope the family's OK and you get a bit of bricking time in the near future :-) Love to Alyssa.
Thanks Nick! It's great to be back. Alyssa has been making great strides these last few months. Her eating is still an issue, but she's improving. Our schedule has eased up quite a bit for now. I'm up to 20 to 30 minutes of brick time here and there. I hope to post a model I've been working on since last April real soon. I can't believe I haven't posted since October of 2015 yikes! Thanks again Nick!

I'm not really sure yet. I bought some nanoblocks, they are like really small lego. They take up a lot less room, so if I ever need to build again, I have those. And baseball, I like that a lot. The indians almost made it last year. Sooooo close.

Hi Clayton. Yeah, this morning I was having second thoughts, but, I think I am still going to go through with it. I just don't have the spark anymore, plus I want to get rid of some clutter. Most of it is already packed up and ready to go. It's not easy though, I used to have a lot of ideas. They just aren't coming now, so I think it's time to do it. Keep well and hug that baby for me.

Quoting Jack Sparrow This is simply fantastic! I love the detail, and I'm happy to see someone use those slope elements on this style car. Good work and I hope all is good with you. :-)
Thanks so much Jack! Things are coming along slowly, but good. I can't take credit for the design of this cars body. This was built from the Lego Ghost Busters car and I just converted it to a hearse. It was a fun little build.

Quoting Gerald F. Oh my! This is amazing! At first I didn't think that the Cadillac could fit so much on the inside. That interior is spot-on and the technique you used to make the side windowd with the 2x2 plate frames is brilliant! The exterior is very well detailed, too! Awesome work as always. Keep On Brickin' my friend.
Thank you my friend. I cannot take credit for the side windows, those are from the Ghost Busters set. I did make the rear door and the license plate was my idea :-)

Quoting Cameron Wilson You are so good at squeezing all of the little details into cars Clayton! I don't get why you got the Ghostbusters set and though " I wan to make this a hearse!" I love the opening back door and the coffin that comes out. The whole shaping of the car is great. I'm guessing you got the Delorean set as well from looking at the number plate. Did you actually start off with the set or build it from scratch to look like it? Great job here Clayton! =)
Thanks Cameron! Sorry for the late reply. I'll try to answer your question. I've always loved hearses especially the 59 Cadillac. The Ghostbusters ecto-1 is also a 59 Cadillac so it wasn't hard to convert it. Oran Cruzen does the same thing only he makes them Convertibles. I do have the BTTF Delorean set the plate came from. Just between you and me I had to move the plate from front to back as I took pictures since I have only one. Ha ha ha! To answer your last question. I bought the set and built it in black. Then had to create the back door and the coffin. It sat on my work bench since last year until this October. I finally finished the interior in time for Halloween. Hope this answers all your questions Cameron.

Quoting Jeremy McCreary Excellent rendering of both the vehicle and the whole hearse thing, Clayton! Like the gates, too. Brings back fond memories of the 1951 Buick hearse I owned in my hippie days.
