Blizzard S2 V3
Here we go again...
About this creation
Bio:
Name: Blizzard

Kanohi: Just a regular kualsi

Element: Ice and blue lightning

Age: Mentally Blizzard is 1,304 years old, however physically he appears to be only 100 (or about 20 in human years. I think... Gillan! Help please!)

Quote: "You've never met a Toa like me."

Weapons/equipment: Stormbringer, and his shield affectionately named Battery

Personality: Blizzard has a very minor case of Multi personality disorder, though there are only two separate personas they differ drastically. The first persona is Blizzard as you all know him, cheery, outgoing, and coolheaded with a surprisingly advanced intelligence. The other persona however is a far different story...

Abilities: Shape shifting, Power scream, Chain lightning, Accuracy, can control Blue lightning and ice, can control a person's body by sending Blue lightning into the victim's body, and can control metal, though he has difficulties controlling metals he has never encountered before.

Theme: Ghosts in the code by Aviators (Closer to the Truth was beginning to get old so I decided to change it up to this. Serves more of a purpose nowadays than the original theme.)

Story: Blizzard, like most of the Donnellax, doesn't recall certain parts of his past, however it is known that Blizzard is a genetically modified clone of a certain maniacal Toa of fire turned Toa of light, Avenge.

It is also known that Blizzard was the cause of the Shadow Wars, however how is currently unknown to even the other Donnellax.

Blizzard was also involved in the events of the Battle of New Valos and the final conflict between the matoran and the Swarm. He later became part of The Toa Ultimatum along with the rest of the Donellax. He also took part in multiple diplomacy missions, and the early events of the apocalypse where he was killed.

After being revived for unknown reasons, he took part in terrorizing the E.E, destroying Lux and his lab, raiding Southern cities across the empire, and gathering information for the Aurdan Rebellion.

His current whereabouts are unknown.

Well, here he is! As you can see I gave up trying to make him look thin and sleek, and sacrificed that for a more textured, armored look. I think I achieved this look moderately well, however I think I could probably change certain parts of him in the future, such as the waist and the arms.

His back definitely needs improvement, however this was the best I could scrounge up at the current moment, however I intend to change this later on.

And here's a size comparison with a skeletal inika build I plan to use in my Halloween special, be it through stop motion or just a comic.

Here's Stormbringer, Blizzard's katana-broadsword mix (what would you call that? A katana sword? A broad katana? Eh, who cares?)

And here's Blizzard's shield, Battery! Why is it called that you ask? Well... reasons. Let's just say this is as much of an offensive tool as it is a defensive one.

Valiantly charging into battle! Or just trying to get through the crowds in the store... maybe both.

And a final shot of Blizzard! Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for revamps of the other Donnellax and newer mocs.

And here's a picture of him while I was still redesigning him.

Anyways I hopw you guys have liked this newer version of Blizzard and please make sure to give some critique because I know for a fact something is wrong with this moc, be it proportions or just a really thin part somewhere on him.

Quoting Chains Productions Awesome MOC! I apologize for not commenting earlier, I saw it, just never got around to commenting. He looks really great. The scarf is a really nice addition and I love the overall look of it. It adds quite a lot. You've done a good job of not making him too bulky and keeping a sense of leanness and agility, which is nice. His torso looks brilliant. His weapons are also very good and I quite like his shield. However, as all MOCs do, this has a few problems. The arms are quite simplistic and the lower arms in particular look quite gappy as I don't think that smaller armour piece works well with the longer bone piece. I also think the spikes on his back look a bit strange. I think they would look a lot better at an angle. Other than those though, this is a pretty great MOC. Awesome!
Alright, thanks for the advice!

Why thank you! I've fixed the problem... hopefully.

Quoting Wertman 8 Well if there's a story reason then the black is okay. I was just looking at it in comparison to past versions :P
I can understand your view on it.

Quoting Sean /EMMSixteenA4 Zach and Stormy got the better half of the critique. I'll just talk up the other parts they didn't stray into. Taking a look at the bio, and I'll confess I've fallen off your story due to it being extremely long and connected to itself, I really do think the bio and MOC play into each other. Blizzard is really starting to look like a man who's fought in many campaigns, like a general of what an army of Toa would probably look like. Ya done good. The only thing I don't like about that is the 'genetically modified clone' but whatever, I didn't read that part for sure so I can't judge things like that (as I'm sure you've found out that cliches, when done right, still work great). But dear gods yes that waistjointcancer pls
I find I'm better making slightly bulkier figures that look like they've seen combat than very thin and lithe figures (*cough* Blizzard S2 V2 cough*) and I do believe I have cured that waistjointcancer, but it took me FOREVER and a day to do!

Quoting Dark Aeon I'm calling it, Battery is going to fire bolts of electricity. I'd say that you should go back to his WIP torso, as it doesn't have as much anorexia. Alternatively, just make sure Blizzard eats plenty of chocolate this Halloween :P
Nope, here's a hint: it's a crime. Yeah, I'll probably work on getting that torso back instead of this one. XD well, Blizzard won't, however I'm a different story altogether.

Quoting Hawkflight _(Steven): With the exception of waistjointcancer I don't see a lot of proportion issues with him. Styling is okay, though I feel like you should have used some 2k15 Master add-ons on the legs. Agreed with Zach on some of the technic-based parts, the shins in particular need some back armor. Also I think he might look better if you made the trans light blue more prominent, or maybe make it dark blue, right now there's not enough of it to stand out against the white and silver.
Alright, thanks for the critique, I'll make sure to fix those problems.

Quoting Wertman 8 Who names their shield? Awesome MOC, a great envisioning of Blizzard! I'm not sure about the black on him, though. I get that it's unavoidable, but the heavy amounts of it, particularly in the legs, kinda sucks a bit of the brightness out of it. Other than that, it's cool! Keep it up!
I do, mainly because... I have no clue. The black was meant to represent a sort of underlying darkness, which foreshadows (or would you call it postshadows) Blizzard's past. And no, I did not just come up with that on the spot just so I could get away with using excess black...

Quoting X ~ Seems really neat witnessing this new generation of MOCers getting better in their art. Anyway. This is the best form of Blizzard to date. But here are some pointers. The waist definitely needs to be filled out..it looks rather skinny. The lower arms seem a bit clunky in their shaping...I blame the technic bits. Lower legs could also do with some shaping on them. And the back definitely needs a bit of fixing up. Other than that, I don't have much else to say. Those shoulder spikes and cape look really cool on him. Good job.
I'll get to work fixing those bits soon, probably later today. Thanks for the critique.

Quoting S2 Pot I am not going to say what I think is wrong, as it has been mentioned plenty already. I for one do not care for waist articulation, though it does have its perks. Those lower legs though! They are BEAUTIFUL!
Waist articulation can be done without, however sometimes I just give a moc waist articulation for some strange reason or another. I'm pretty proud of the lower legs, though the design wobbles around a bit, especially the ankles and the armor.

Quoting Quartz roolz nice. i have very little to contribute that hasnt allready been said, but i do have a question: how did you get that cape to fit? is it custom, of is there some insane tucking going on.
I cut a strip of cloth from Furno XL's cape and then wrapped it around his neck.

Quoting De Silva Well, a new version of Blizzard? Quite nice, though, maybe, you should use the other torso design from the midway build. Also, a broadsword/katana would be difficult to use. Katanas are thin and light as to get the swiftest attacks, and broadswords are large and heavy to get the most damage out of one swing. They couldn't realy go together that well. Did I just waste your time explaining the mechanics of swords? Yes, and I'm sorry.
Thanks for the info and suggestion, I'll make sure to fix those issues.

Quoting Dragoneye Creations I really like this version!!! Although, I agree with Gabe to maybe thicken the torso a bit. And, in my opinion, make his katana sleeker as they we originally quite thin, but that's what I would do. Anyways, nice one, Blizzard!!
Thanks! The katana is supposed to be that thick, as it's a cross between a katana and a broadsword, allowing for the power and strength, while still being easy to handle.

Quoting Pakari Nation99 (G Hayes) I love everything except the skinny mid-section! Maybe go back to the Bohrok eyes on the older torso and I think he'd be amazing! I love those legs, and the arms, although simplistic, really work with the 2015 add-ons! I also enjoy his shoulder cape and weapons! Great job here!
Why thank you! I'll see what I can do about the torso.
