I need help......
Hey guys, I would like to make a toa SM, but I don't know where to start.... Do you have any ideas/help?
About this creation
There's so many awesome Toa Self Mocs out there... And I want to make one too, but I don't know where to start. I've already tried (and failed) several times to make a SM that pleases me.... I could really use some help from all you amazing mocers out there. Thanks! :D

my opinion would to find a mask/ helmet you really like, or a design. Then, build your SM based off of the helmet and what you would like to have on your S.M. now, you can apply the same rules If you have a really cool... something else. like wings, for example. or feet. there ya go!

Quoting Dannyman (Kangar) With things like this, you could go at it from a few angles. Like some said, find a good color scheme/pieces to use, and then use an element that makes sense to go with it. Another way is to think of all of the elements first, and which ones you feel represent you the most, like for my old SelfMOC, Kangar, I chose the element of plants because I enjoy being outside in nature. If you can't decide the element that way, then you could find an appropriate element based off of your personality, for example, if you have a bad temper, then fire or some variation of fire would be good. Something else that you could do is build the character to have the same body looks as you, like if you're tall and thin, make a lightly armored dude, or if you're buff, make a heavily armored guy. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the help!

Try this: Look for one or two of your favorite bricks (any system) and build around them.

Quoting Chains Productions Be unique! Have something that no one else has tried before! Give him a decent back story and if you want, you can then craft a world around that. I'd also say to not worry if he doesn't work out first time. Post him up and use the feedback you get to improve him and your own ideas which will grow over time to make him the best. Brainstorming and writing down and sketching ideas works for me. Good luck, man! Can't wait to see it when it's complete.
Okidokey! Thank you for the help! :)

Quoting Declan Muller Something many people don't realise: come up with a decent colour scheme. Here, try this tool. It's used by the multimedia industry all the time, and many people don't think twice about its Lego potential. It's how I came up with the colours for my entry to last year's NoVVember. https://color.adobe.com/
Thanks!

Quoting Lagrais Toa of Light and Fire Well, I would say and take note this is just my personal opinion, don't make him OP, don't make him a new element. For example my self MOC can wield two elements but I have a good story behind why and even though he has the full range of abilities of either element his attacks only have half the strength of a toa who is just fire or light. Might I suggest though the element of plasma? The color scheme for theme is orange and white.
Noted. Ty! :D

Quoting Declan Muller Also, maybe make it a simple bioformer? Not many Toa SMs to that.
Hmm.... Idk....

Just one question for you, Daniel: What element are you using? Then I'll probably suggest a few tips.

I'd find where you stand first in elements/abilities, then look into where you would like to stand as a toa/being. Then go into a area of time you like as in you want your SM to represent. Also think of a history that will also represent your SM. For me, on the other hand, I just let it "flow". My SM has no abilities and is a mixture of old times and the future. He also has not got his history placed in yet... http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/418017 This may help

Step 1: Find colors that you like, that match a canon element (Or make up one). Step 2: Like the other guy said, find a mask. Step 3: I find it easiest to start with the torso, and work from there. That's what I do, hope it helps.

Quoting Sunder • I find it easier to start from the mask first, and then build the rest around that. If the mask looks a little like a helmet, then perhaps the armour could be sorta knightly. If it looks extravagant then the armour could be similarly complex. Also, I always build from the feet up. Just easier for me. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for the help! :D
