Ferrari 458 Italia
Well, it's finally done! What can I say? It was hard, considering I've been a 4-wide builder for many years. But take a look, see what you think! Also, the .lxf file is below so you can check it out for yourself, and perhaps play around with it.
About this creation
I made this for Harry Gravett's contest, Summer Cars 2015 "Dream Drives" . I lost inspiration whilst making this, but four people came to the rescue! Those people are: Ryan Link , Alexander Paschoaletto , Nathanael L , and Loek M . A big thanks to you guys!

Starting with the front, I'm fairly pleased with the result. The only thing I don't like is the roof height. I think it's just a bit too low for a 458.

I did my own take on this part. I think it fits nicely.

I'll have to thank Alexander for the idea of the lights.

The shaping of the sides was such a pain to do. Considering the time I wanted to finish it by, I just ended out with this. I don't think it's too bad. I also think I should have shortened the wheelbase by at least a stud.

The rear would probably the most realistic part of the car in my opinion. I'm very happy with how it turned out!

More extra detail, anyone?

Here we have the magnificent engine of this Prancing Horse, of which this car is named after. A 4.5 litre V8.

Hiding some of the back reveals more of the engine. Not much more though.

Added brakes for more detail and realism.

Here are all of the opening functions. Well, it's only just the boot, and doors. I'll be getting to the boot and that bag a bit later.

Ah... A more detailed interior! Interior detail was a must for me. I personally think I did quite well. For those that saw my progress on flickr, the interior was originally tan, and I used chains as seatbelts. The tan is gone and is now replaced with black leather, and the seatbelts have disappeared too. You can't fit everything you want in, you know!

A closer look at the pedals and footrest.

This is something I got from Ryan Link's updated 458 . Since there is no flexible string in LDD, chains had to do. The rest of it is all my design.

Here it is with my 4-wide 458. Comparing the two may be a bit too hard...

I still can't get enough of those lights on the 4-wide.

It seems as though the mini 458 thinks it's the king of the world. I can just hear it shouting it...

Here is where I'd like to drive a 458: Monaco. Some people may say something like the Col de Turini or something along those lines. But I've loved the sights of Monaco for a long time. So driving along the Riviera would be a dream come true for me.

Overall, I think this turned out quite nicely, considering this is the first large-scale car I've made all on my own. But there's still room for improvement!

Quoting Per Bonde Impressive. Normally I don't look at LDD, but this I had to see. Great job!
Thank you! It did take me quite a while to make, but it was quicker than I expected. Then again, I made this for a contest. But I appreciate your compliment.
Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Definitely a 458! I like the flat roof, it gives it a more aggressive look.
Well, I'm happy that it is recognisable at the very least. At the time that I was building this, I just chose to do a flat roof to speed things up a bit. That doesn't mean I can't improve it, which I'm planning to do. Thanks anyway!

Quoting Sam the First This is pretty good! Not sure what the 1x1 round plates on the side are about, but this is still a great effort! very well done.
Wait... I actually used them to angle the shaping on the side. Seems like I forgot to do that! Guess I might have to swap a few images...

Thanks, Sam! I probably should have removed the "smooth studs" and just replaced them with 1x2 tiles. Like I said, there's still room for improvement!

Quoting Loek M As you said the limitations for a 4-wide builder are visible but overall it's a very clean and inventive build. I love the rear, it's spot on, and that diffusor idea is great! Just keep going and eventually large scale will be just like 4-wide!
Ha ha, thanks! I'm sure it will be!
