This car was originally a Rolls Royce Phantom MKII that got transformed into a MOON Touring car. (no, the the jalopy from the Apollo Moon missions!) once I realized how close they were to each other in style cues. I guess I did the usual car building process backwards: build the car, then find a real life counterpart, instead pf building the car off a specific type.

Photo and background info from Wikipedia:

Moon Motor Car (1905 - 1930) was a United States automobile company that was based in St. Louis, Missouri. The company had a venerable reputation among the buying public, as it was known for fully assembled, easily affordable mid-level cars using high-quality parts. Often this meant the manufacturing process required more human intervention, leading to operating losses.

Moon Motor's peak production year was 1925 when the company produced 10,271 vehicles. Beginning in 1924, Moon was increasingly unable to meet dealership orders. The company went out of business at the start of the Great Depression; the Moon factory was purchased by Ruxton automobile.

This car is the closest real-life car I could find to the LEGO version. The picture is from Google, specifically, the MOON Car Club Website.

I want to drive this car on the original highway: Route 66. (pic from Wikipedia)

EDIT: here are more pictures of the car:

front

rear

EDIT: Please note: the car features a wheel frame from Carl Greatrix's Rolls Royce. I just remembered about that, as the model was made sometime ago. Sorry for the confusion, oyu can DQ me if you want. www.flickr.com/photos/bricktrix/4248199139/in/album-72157...

Quoting Sam Sanister Reminds me of the Anthill Mob's car!
If you are referring to the cartoons the "Perils of Penelope Pitstop" and "Wacky Racers", then it may have been an subliminal influence. I loved watching those older cartoons on Boomerang (Cartoon Network) on lazy weekends in the early 2000's / late 1990's!
