LDD not so technic: Letterbox
a new house, needs a new letterbox. Who can guess which housenumber it will carry? :-)
About this creation

a simple "key" can open the mailbox. I used the wormwheel as there is no friction when you put the key in.

The rear has no relief, but I added color anyhow.

Well, I don't think the misses will agree, but maybe there is to find a tutorial: how to glue Lego parts somwhere?

Thanks for watching, please leave your ever appreciated comments!

Quoting Nick Barrett I hope the missus comes round - it's an attractive thing to have outside number 24.
Thanks for the nice comment, Nick. And yes, it would be kind of stupid to put it in front of numer 25 :-)

Quoting Nils O. A very cool idea! I bet it will look great in front of the house. But I think it will take quite a few turns of the key to open the mailbox. Maybe you should build a model, first. Anyway, well done, so far! :-))
Thanks for passing by, and for the glue tip. Very helpfull.!!!

About the glueing: I've glued some toys that I've made for my little son when he was about a year old. I've made a few rattles, a spinning top and a few rattling wheels for his marble run. I've used a kind of airfix glue for it -> (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/383905) It works perfectly. The solvent almost "solds" the parts together.

Very cool! If it is in front of your house, every postman wants to drop every letter into it! :D Congrats!

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Hi Joost :). Great to see a build from you. A fun build and I really like the key design. Congratulations on the new house. I am moving house in a few weeks and busy packing all my Lego - I can't believe how much I have.

Hey Joost! Congratulations on your new house! Love the letterbox design! I use a solvent called MEK to "weld" bricks together there is more information about it here http://bricks.stackexchange.com/questions/1037/what-glue-should-i-use-for-permanent-lego-construction
