About this creation
NOTE: Huge credit to Sam the First for rendering the main pic for me!!

Well, after a few hours of building – I mean, a few days – here is my 10-wide McLaren P1! :D

This car (in real life, obviously :P) boasts a 3.8L twin-turbo V8, driving the rear wheels through a couple of electric motors and a 7-speed DCT. This is not your mom's Prius!!

This model does NOT have that. It has one handpower and goes a push a second.

If you want more information...Google it.

This model was really tough to make, owing to the fact that McLaren's design language is utterly bamboozling and awesome. But I think it was worth it, and I'm pretty happy with it...

I must say, I do like the roof. Even though it is extremely UNsturdy.

I wish there was a better way to make the headlights. (There probably is :P)

Borrows from Geoffrey Welch's technique of using tilted curved pieces. Effective, and simpler than SNOT, but no hood vents D:

I'm not sure about the wheelbase...looks OK, but might look slightly better a stud longer...?

The infamous side...thingy!

No, the wing does not go down. The engine is supposed to be the vague grey parts, but it doesn't have the effect I was hoping for :P

The lights are also like what Geoffrey Welch did on his P1, using the sausages, but I had room here for some more taillight parts.

Note how this entire assembly is completely SNOT. That was a pain in the be-hind :P

I would show you a picture of the interior, but there really isn't one. Just a steering wheel and a couple o' random bricks. :P

Sorry for the bad pics, I tried and tried with BlueRender but it still doesn't work. (I haven't given up!)

So that's that, I hope you liked this model, feel free to rate and/or comment, thanks!! :D

EDIT 7/9/15: Introducing...the McLaren P1 GTR Concept! Complete with an oversized wing and (drumroll please) new colors!!

Also changed the exhaust pipes :D

Quoting Alexander Paschoaletto How did I miss this? That's very neat. I really like the solution for the side profile and honestly didn't expect a 10-wide to look this good.
Thank you Alexander!! :D

Quoting Nick Barrett Looks great, loving those sausage tail-lights! As for the wheelbase, I'd bet if you made it a stud longer it'll suddenly look too long - it's fine as it is.
Thanks Nick!! Yeah, I guess it's like your mini Citroen DS in that way :P

Really good for the scale, you have somehow crammed a lot of detail into such a small size. I like the use of teeth as lights and sausages for the taillights haha. Keep up the good work! :D

Already thought this was highly impressive, even before I saw the scale! Great techniques, although if I can be picky the headlights seem a bit small. But, for the rest, it's close to perfect!
