Potions Class
"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few... Who possess, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." ~Professor Severus Snape
About this creation
My contribution to the Brick Time Stories collaboration at Brickworld 2015, in which Harry Potter endures a grueling period of Potions in Snape's dungeon. I collaborated in cahoots with builders Max Pointner, Paul Vermeesch, Dan Church, Casey McCoy, Lee Muzzy, Matthew Oh, and Ben Merrill. I think my favorite aspects of this are the floor, SNAPE, and Harry's hair. Plus the Gryffindor tie was very cleverly done!

Thanks for the comments, friends! Much appreciated!
Quoting Kermunklin the Giant Evil House Head ...and the presentation as an open book is both inspired and incredibly well-executed...
While I can take credit for the idea, the basic book template design was originated by my fellow collaborator Dan Church.

Even without reading your comment, I knew what it was all about at first look: it means you succeeded. Your mid-figs are stunning; Rogue is just perfect.

Ha, what a coincidence. When I saw your set we watched Harry Potter with the children. A very nice set.

Superior! Great brick-built figures (Snape's posture!), cool layout, and the presentation as an open book is both inspired and incredibly well-executed (although a bit thin for an HP book...but then again the first two were quite slim compared to the later ones). Overall a great MOC, love how you did Harry's tie, btw!

Nice tiling, Ian! The collab looks great this year, and I really am sad I couldn't make it this year to come say hi and see this in person. It is neat that you guys used so many different scales. Anyways keep up the good bricking!

Such fun and quirky figures, I love it! I've not seen this style before, it reminds me of some of the illustrations on the children's version covers of Harry Potter. Love Harry in particular, but Snape's hair is perfect. Great work Ian, wish I could've seen this in person.
